Well the good news is that she IS a really good friend. Too often relationships are based on just chemistry and a friendship never really develops, so you are ahead of the game there. Go slowly with this. Girls love chick flicks, take her, or rent one, and then perhaps give her a longer hug than usual when you part. Moving the relationship slowly into a slightly more romantic arena will give you an indication of her feelings by her reactions without you going too far. If she has similar feelings, she will welcome the change and the relationship will evolve naturally. If she does not, she will most likely become a little standoff-ish or seem uncomfortable with it. Then you can pull back and give her some space and you will be able to return to your previous situation without you feeling weird. Even if your amorous feeling aren't ultimately returned, remember a good friend still loves you, just not in the romantic sense.

Johnny boy--millions of guys like their best friend--only you know whether to ask her out and have a relationship....why would it be a problem to have lunch and then have a chance to talk about it? It's 50/50 as to whether it will happen. yes means OK, let's date--that would be nice. No means you just say thanks and then smile and stay friends. Then think morning and night about a different girl. Hormones and emotions run wild at your age--relax and cool off--it will straighten out eventually. Just be a nice mature, respectful guy--do the right thing and good luck.

Don't do it...trust me it happened to me take a cold shower, if that doesn't work......
1st, find out if she likes you by asking a friend that you know won't spill, but can help
2nd drop hints NOT TOO OBVIOUS!!!
3rd if she starts to drop hints, return them
4th get to know her better
5th ask her out
you're on your own after this (is this the best answer)
PS DON"T COME ON TOO STRONG!!!

You should go for it. I have been in this dilemma before but it turned out to be the best relationship I have ever been in. You don't want to regret it later on in life if you didn't tell her your feelings.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just ask her in a way that she will have an out. "I have really been thinking a lot about what it would be like for us to be a couple. Have you ever thought about it?"
