It could be many things. I would have a Dr look at it first if it is bothering you.

If you are young and healthy do not ignore it for it could be the onset start of a problem that could worsen over years. Many MA hurt themselves and heal but never fully heal and those injuries like a rubber band being pulled once too often can lose their flexibility and this can also happen to the human body.

The only way of knowing is to have a Physician verify if you have a problem or just a sore muscle area.

Good Luck

You did injure it,and you don't realize it.It doesn't have to be an injury that sends you to the ER to sustain joint damage. You have probably slipped your rota cuff a little and it takes time to heal.Stop repetitive weight lifting for a while and make sure you stretch properly.Take a break for a while see if that helps.

Maybe you didn't warm up properly and your shoulder joints are still "cold" hence the popping sound. If this is not the case, then I suggest you consult a doctor since this may be early symptoms of arthritis.

Go to the Chiropractor, he can tell you. Their x-rays are normally cheaper than a hospital. You probably just had an injury minor enough you didn't notice, that healed funny. They can pop it in while your there.
