In India why a mother not kiss her son on lip?

I found that many foreign moms kiss their sons on chicks as well as on lip then, why not in India?

Kiss is a symbol of love which any mother will share with her child whether daughter or son. The lady who keeps the child in her womb for nine months & give birth to the child through her vaginal region, why should she have any such feeling that people here or anywhere have with regards to sexual attraction or sexual relationship between the child & the mother, its utter nonsense by even thing like this. The child is a part of his or her mother & the mother can kiss her part where ever she likes nothing wrong about this. All mother kiss, hug & love their child every where in the world & no one should ever speak or keep any perverted thoughts about a mother & child relationship.

I am an indian and I kiss my little son on the lips, cheeks and I hug him and we hv fun. That doesnt mean anything sexual. Its a pure mother-son love. Now he's just 3 yrs old, I am not sure if I will keep doing that as he grows. Its all about how you feel and how you take it. I might stop doing that if I feel he gets a wrong impression or at a stage where I think its wrong, I'll definitely stop it. But till then its just a motherly love for him.

Some people sound as if its something bad. Maybe you think that cause u hv not had babies yet. Once u get a baby, u'll know how it is. In India, I dont know why it is not done. It was never a custom, so I guess, people still follow it. The indian society might not accept it I guess.

In some cultures, it can be a symbol of disrespect to traditions or just a family-wise obligation. Usually a Mother wouldn't kiss her son, because in some cases it could make the husband feel jealous or uncomfortable, or the Mother would feel that it is inappropriate. A peck on the cheeks is nothing big, because it just shows extended love through the family, but on the lips would be a rather unusual feeling from a guardian.

Because the Indian culture is Sex centric and every action between any male and any female, irrespective of their relationship to each other, has to be interpreted with a sexual tone.

So the average Indian is tutored from a very young age to start making perverted interpretations to ordinary actions like a mother kissing a child.

Its not like any mother anywhere gives more than a peck on the lips of her child. But as is evident from some previous answers here, most Indians cant stop having a perverted imagination.

don't think it's weird.. she's his mother... as long as it's a peck.. i wuoldn't say it's weird at all... my sis when i was like 12-14 (she's 11 older than i am, so she was 23-25) she always tried to give me peck kisses on the lips.. and i wouldn't want to... so she would be like "it's okay, look.." and then she would peck kiss my mom on the lips... and i do'nto remember who it was, but when i was a kid, like around 12 or so, i remember watching on tv that they were showing some award for spanish singers, i don't remember who it was, but then they had this guy who had won an award, and his fatehr was also a singer, and they both performed a song together, and the father peck kissed the son on the lips.. and they were famous, and the son was an adult... i don't think there's anything wrong with it.. if he doesn't feel comfortable however, he should tell his mother that he's grown up and that he thinks it's weird... but i honestly wouldn't make anything out of it...

In India, woman wears sari.. keeps her head covered when elders are around

Now in influence of western way of life the traditions are disappearing..

man can not imagine of hugging their wife when parents are around where is the question of following the system of kissing on lip by mother

You are bothered about Indian mothers not kissing her son on lips .. are not bothered for foreign sons leaving his parents the moment he marries the woman..

there are many differences and many good/bad things in each cultures...

so your question is why a Camel is not found in Alaska or why Eskimos are not living in Middle east....

For starters...I am not a dog!!!
For all you perverted people, there are different kids of love. The love a mother has for her children is different to the love she has for her husband.
The love a sister has for her brother is different to what she has for her husband.
The love a daughter has for her father is different to those she has toward her husband too.

I kiss my kids on the lips and hug them tightly. It's in my culture to show affection openly to my children. It's also in my culture to greet that way for the whole world to see.
Not every kind of affection has sexual connotation.
Your culture keeps you a narrow-minded person, thus not accepting others' good intentions. That is cruel and sick.

Crazy,, Im born American its no big deal for Fathers or Mothers to kiss son or daughter on the lips,, if they are little or older, but for others who cares,, people live diffrent,, its not a sex type thing,, thats not right! so if think diffrent,, maybe they just plain sick minded people with no sense? kissing on lips is a sign of true love and affection which a wife has for her husband and a girl for her lover. and there is a huge difference b/w the love for a mother and a lover. u agree. this is also a kind of sexual attraction.

I kiss all my children on the lips - good grief. Why must it be sexual? I never ever think of my children in a sexual way - never have,never will. What nonsense to say that this is a sign of decadence.
I kiss them on their lips, on their cheeks, on their necks, on their heads. It's merely a sign of affection.
But obviously in your country it is a sign of sexual interest. Every culture is different. Just go with the flow.
