Everything I state has the surah and verse right next to it, so you can see that it is truthful no matter what hateful trolls say.

If you read these, you see they are about self defense, and also telling the reader that if the person you are defending yourself from stops, then you must stop too. It also says don't go overboard in protecting yourself, just do what you need to stay alive and protect yourself. This does not mean to go around killing innocent people. Self defense is not killing those who are not muslim. Self defense is just that. If physically attacked, fight back. If the attacker stops, you stop too. And why was verse 192 left out of the Answering Islam site? Is it because it made people really think about this? It says if the attacker stops, then good, all is forgiven.

[002:190] Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.

[002:191] And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers.

[002:192] But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

[002:193] And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers.

Why is reading comprehension not used? Why take somebody's word for it when they say it means to kill all nonmuslims for not being muslim? The words are clear, that it's not allowed. So why be so foolish as to believe it?

I think the following phrase summarises your verses "Do unto others what others did unto you"

Because the Dominant Christians in the world, the extremists Muslims feel threatened by very single gestures, even harmless ones.
These Muslims take everything as a percieved threat, therefore, by reading that Islam allows violence reactions against their oppressors, the extremists clerics actually induces the people to riot and become terrorists.

That's where everything goes wrong. The entire thing can actually be a giant misunderstanding, like culturally, intectually or socially.
Like, if a christian based company was to pull out their ventures in a muslim country, resulting in hundred or thousands of people being unemployed, the clerics take advantge and announces that the Christian Dogs are delibrately causing the muslim faithful to lose jobs, and thereby, undermining Islam. However, when everything boils down, its all money and cents.

I personally feel disagree with "Do unto others what others did unto you" Being an idealist, I would prefer to go about understanding the reasons why something happened, and question myself if i had done anything unknowningly to cause the event to happened. Which is again best summed as "Karma".

History.. there were reasons for the crusades. You bring up some good points... it is just that most non-musims will not take the time to find or read the surah or verse. Same as with Christians just giving the verses without the actual words. It is better to say things in your own words and then giving the words of the verses in the source, but many will not even take the time to read it then either.

I think that people have misinterpreted or flat out bastardized religious Texts for centuries to gain power and influence in their lands and abroad, that would explain the so many of the wars in the name of God. The Crusades took place because the Catholic church wanted more money and power, not because it was of God and people are still blaming today's Christian's for this horrible thing. I honestly think that people fight in the name of God in all religions for power and or money. I believe that's the bottom line. A lot of people are going to have a very rude awakening when they get to heaven, paradise, whatever they believe the afterlife is.

Because they are sheep who mindlessly believe whatever their church tells them without doing any research on their own or they know the truth and choose to slander another religion with lies and propaganda. Either way, it does not speak well of them and will not discredit your religion to anyone with half a brain.

Maybe it's the translation, it does sound aggressive and people can easily mistaken it for attacking procedure.

I still like 'Love thy neighbour as yourself', 'Love thy enemy and pray for them'. It promotes love rather than being hostile. Simple and easy to understand.
