I think that the world has lost any sense of toughness. Everyone is sooo overly sensitive that speech is constantly being hindered and everyone is a victim. I know a woman who's daughter was "acquaintance raped" years ago and she now is on disability and attending community college on taxpayer dollars because she suffers from "second hand post traumatic stress disorder". Don Imus gets fired because he's stupid and made a derogatory comment! Al Sharpeton gets involved and the victim game gets started all over again. Why can't people just toughen up and roll with the punches once in awhile? What would the people who lived through the great depression say when people ***** about gaining too much weight and blame it on McDonalds? Am I alone in this belief that people need to just f-u-c-k-i-n-g deal with it?!

Yes! You are being perfectly reasonable. They do need to deal with it because our forefathers and our ancestors came to America with no social welfare system and built this country with their bare hands, while being taxed to death and having to grow their own food. Their decision to throw off the authority that oppressed them made us the most free nation in the world.

I think our best defense against this modern-day attack on dignity should be met with a battle cry of 'WUSSIE!'. To call someone weak is still one of the last effective, politically incorrect things you can get away with, because it points out so clearly the mentality behind the complaint.

It usually makes them come unhinged, which makes them look even more weak and out of control. At the very least, when you think so highly of yourself to impose your problems on others, you deserve to be taken down a notch. I think it's good for America if we start calling people out for the wusses that they are.

There's a fine line between being heartless and enabling.

Everyone has been a victim of something, somehow. The thing is... that people really long to be understood by others on some level. That's why so many people work so hard to define themselves with all these syndromes and conditions resembling ...
BFD, MADD, MYOB, and stuff that looks like a spoon full of alphabet soup. It gives them a label so they can say..."this is who I am" and "it's a real condition so that validates my feelings". For these people, I think a dose of compassion is more likely to be effective than scorn.

As far as the people who exercise poor judgement and exhibit offensive behavior... "don't do the crime if you can't serve the time..." All I can say is: "sorry", consequences are a fact of life. I'm with you there... offenders must "Deal with it", or get some help with their problem if they don't like the results of their behavior.

If you use the first family as an example, and no not the Bush family, I'm talkin Adam, Eve, Cain and Able... not much has changed over the years with the human race.

In certain circumstances, yes, you have a point. However before you go judging, pointing the finger and ranting, think about how you will feel if your daughter (or son) was ever to get "aquaintance raped". Why do I have the feeling that post traumatic stress wouldn't be an issue?

It's out of control, I agree. I think everyone is looking for an easy way to make a buck. It's absolutely ridiculous. There has to be a point where you hold yourself responsible. The teachings of your parent when you grew up...people make mistakes and just be honest with yourself. It irritates me too...best thing is to not be the same way. Although, it seems like the honest good people finish last.

in relation to religion, the first couple here on earth was adam and eve. and because eve committed a mistake and broke the agreement between her and God, God promised that our world would be suffering from different calamities, imperfections, war, etc.

scientifically speaking, it's according to the law of nature. there would be no discoveries be found when there's problem does not exist. imperfections can lead sometimes to new discoveries. we're made out of chaos, so live with it.

Maybe you are the one who's too tough?
The world has, in my opinion, lost compassion for fellow human beings. There's too much toughness, even my boyfriend and I have hearts made of stone.

No, I agree - let's all get belligerent, agressive and deeply offend one another! Lets get guns and missiles and bombs, and nuke the H E L L out of anyone who disagrees with ME personally. I can't see a problem with this - because I have a tiny mind.

I KNOW I'M RIGHT - it's gonna take a while and a who lotta lead for me to prove it

Now I'm going to get back to my kitty cat
