You have the time, but can't get out of the house??

Running outside is a much different dynamic than going thru the motions inside, because you actually travel when you're outside. If you're fatigued, you're pushing too hard. You should run at a pace that allows you to talk and carry on a conversation.

Let me comment on your weight loss plan. The body burns glycogen for about 30 minutes into an aerobic workout session before starting to burn fat. So while I agree with another responder that any amount of exercise is good, you could be more efficient by extending your workout to an hour, even if you have to walk part of it. Change your lifestyle and do this forever. Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits & vegetables.

In short yes it will help you lose weight, but its not as effective as propeling your self forward.

This is because when you run outside you use a lot more of your main muscles since you put them through a wider range of motion. When you fire up those thigh and quad muscles you burn a lot of calories, and when your body runs out of a ready source of calories from the food you have eaten, it will look to your fat stores as the next energy source.

Also when you run point-to-point you are using many many smaller muscles to control things like your balance, stability, speed changes, back/shoulderr support, breathing rate and most importantly your heart.

So the reason you are more tired is because you are simply doing more when you run point to point.

Running on the spot is a good cardio exercise but for real weight loss you should consider either a treadmill or possibly finding more time to run out doors.

Good Luck!

CAuse your house has air condition making you feel better and running on the spot is just as good as running outside but, you have to keep your knees up really high if your doing it at home.

When you run on the spot, your are running on a different surface and your not using all the muscles you would be using if you were really in motion. But any exercise is better than none.

Because you aren't running gradients etc! It will help your weight loss, but be sure you do it for long enough - at least 20 minutes!! I actually run round the house on wet days! Works for me!

You could try skipping too - that works well indoors!
