If my parents were born to a dumb religion and gave me the same dumb religion should I give the same dumb religion to my children?

When you are a child you listen to your parents. When you become an adult you are expected to use your brain. At 18 study the Bible and other literature or whatever and decide what you think is not a dumb religion. To be a dumb religion because your parents are is really really dumb. Then to pass that to your children is unforgiveable. Tell them at 18 decide what religion you want to be. That is someone every adult has to do for himself.

The dumb religion is not dumb for your parents. They imposed their decision/choice on you. If you don't like their act, then you should not do the same. Don't tell your child that so and so is a dumb religion. Let he/she decides for herself.

If you think it's dumb no...and also, just because they "gave" you that dumb religion doesn't mean you have to take it.

Not at all. You should get the real essence of human life which u can impart it to others through ur religion. So u need a Guru who can give u real knowledge

If you do not believe in your religion I don't suggest you should follow it. I do hope that you believe in something because it would be rather sad to hear that your children won't have a faith or beliefs either. One day they are going to ask you what they are hoping to or praying for and I hope you can explain it.

Honestly, me, I was born into a religion too.
I do believe in it.
But I'm not strictly religious in it.
And don't really want to be.
It's your choice, honestly.
Don't feel pressured to have to pass it down.
But really, all religions have their faults but don't call it dumb.

there is nothing like dumb religion. Its the way we interpret it.
there is certain sector of our society who manipulate the religion as per there convenience and use it for their own benefits. that's where the problem starts.

No, you don't have to make your children follow the same religion, & you shouldn't if you, yourself don't agree with it. You don't even have to follow the religion if you don't want.
