I used to have stomach problems but when i consalted a doctor, he said that my system is producing excess acid and this was a sign of me developing stomach alcers. but since i am a light drinker, i would whish to know whether this can worsen my situation

Alcohol interferes with blood clotting. It doesn't matter if your a light drinker or a heavy drinker. If you have a medical condition and can't leave the booze alone, you have a drinking problem.

I would imagine it would not be healthy. Alcohol would raise the acidity level of your stomach even further, and could possibly worsen your condition. If your taking medication, that's even worse because you don't know how your body will react to having the medication and the alcohol at the same time.

Alcohol CAN exacerbate ulcers, but I'm curious why the doctor didn't prescribe a medication to reduce your acid production, like Prilosec or Prevacid.
