does it create uneveness all over the body? because my right rib sort of protrudes or sticks out more then the left one. i had a checkout at school for scoliosis, because they always check, but the nurse didn't say anything.

you probably have scoliosis, which is where your spine is curved. I have the same problem, and my shoulders are uneven. Your spine, when curved, throws your whole body out of proportion and puts pressure in weird areas. You could get a brace, or try not doing really strenuous things or not being on your feet for really really long periods of time, adn see if that helps. You probably need to go to a spine specialist because they can x-ray and tell if you really do have curvature of the spine. It's pretty common depending on how bad your spine acually curves, and more than likley you won't need surgery or anything. get it checked up, cuz some types get worse as you go through puberty, but some stay the same, so get it looked at!! good luck!

My doctor thought I had it...got an x-ray and mine was so minor. I am 13 so I am not yet grown so it can get worse. If it got a lot worse then I'd have to get a backbrace. Scoliosis is in your back which could effect uneven shoulders...you'll just have to see.

I have elevated shoulders also but that is because i have scoliosis you should get your back checked out to see if you have it. Or it can be that your arms and shoulders are not growing at the same time.

Hi Katie. Your medical doctor has very little to no training in biomechanics. This is why he/she didn't explain more (he/she doesn't know more).

Something is definitely going on with your body (pain is never normal, never!). It may be a good idea to see your family Chiropractor. Chiropractors are doctors that specialize in biomechanical problems like you may be having.

Best wishes and good luck.

Your shoulders are just not growing in proportion with each other. This is perfectly normal. It is like one breast being bigger than the other. It happens to a lot of people.
