Okay, so why do people always talk about blondes and brunettes but you never hear anything about redheads. It seems like guys only want blondes or brunettes. I've heard blondes have more fun and brunettes are smart. But they say redheads have a temper. What's up with that?? Why such negativity about red hair?

I'm redheaded and although I get complimented on it, it seems the only compliments are from old ladies and girls. Do guys just not like redheads?

I just don't understand.

Hair colors are more than just blonde and brunette. I mean come on.

You don't hear as much about redheads because you're a small minority, and it's a look that can't really be copied. I agree that red hair seems to have some negative connotations, but really, nothing as bad as the "dumb blonde" stereotype. Because of the perceived negatives, though, I've always been careful about complimenting a woman on her red hair - some of you have heard the stereotypes too many times and tend to be touchy about it. Also, though it's a look I find very attractive, I'd rather compliment a woman for who she is rather than something over which she had no control.

exactly! THANK YOU!!! I too am a redhead and damn proud of it!but I totally am not getting the blonde vs brunette thing. You'd think we'd get ALL the attention cuz red is just so exotic, and different. and actually, i read in Cosmo a long time ago, that blondes are the angelic, sweet ones. brunettes are the girls next door, smart ones. and redheads are the tempered sex kittens. ( and what guy doesn't like that!?!?)
And yea, I get complimented alot on my hair, but like you, its old ladies and young girls.
But with guys its either they love it, or they absolutely hate it.
Personally, I wouldn't want my hair any other way. I mean, I try out different hair colors, but at the end of the day, I love my red hair.

I have no real answer, I just wanted to agree whole-heartedly with this. I always see people on here asking if guys prefer blondes or brunettes, and there are so few of us reminding them of the existence of redheads.

i'm naturally blonde but i've always been envious of redheads, i love the color, and my mom doesn't let me dye my hair, so for a school play the directors gave me the opportunity so i took it, and then for another they had me go brunette but unfortunately i am back to blonde...so i've been all three hair colors, and like some other people have mentioned, blondes get called dumb. so it doesn't matter what hair color you are, there are always going to be stereotypical people

i love my redhead. i have been married to her for 21 years. i know a lot of guys that like redheads, they have a fire that blondes and brunettes don't have, i mean a temper. my wife has quite a temper, and i wouldn't want her any other way.

I agree, but can provide no answer because I am female. We are indeed a dying race.

Apparently, we only make up about 5% of the population, and will be "extinct" sooner or later.

Maybe guys just don't know red hair exists!

Probably because you don't see as many pretty redheads as blondes and brunettes...just a guess.
