that's so sad, im sorry. i think he really needs to go to a doctor, so take him to the city or any place where there are vets, even the closest one possible can't be that far away. good luck, i hope he gets treatment

Contact the Humane Society in your area... they might know where the closest vet who can help might be... Maybe at the nearest large city University Vet School? It might mean a long drive, but there really isn't any treatments for eye problems that you can do at home...

If he does lose his sight, it doesn't mean he can't still live a full life. Remember how great their sense of smell is. The important things you can do if he goes blind are:

Make sure his food and water are always in the same place so he can find them easily.

Don't let him go outside unless on a leash or chain so he won't get lost or run over.

Don't move furniture around. Decide how the house will look before he goes completely blind then leave it that way.

Always announce yourself to him when you come into the room with him. He will probably smell you anyway, but the fewer surprises he has, the happier he will be.

Play up his other senses... talk to him, touch him, give him foods he likes with strong yummy smells... put an old shirt in his bed so he can smell you when he sleeps.

Look at his eyes frequently to make sure they don't develop an infection, especially if you aren't sure why he is going blind.

You sound like a wonderful animal lover. With just a little extra effort, you can still give him a long full life, and he will reward you with his love all the more!

okay, i read the other night that an older man put olive oil in his ears and eyes and he recovered from his failing eye sight and his hearing loss. So maybe this might help your dog, I would think it could not hurt it, so it might be worth a try. Also, if the problem is due to cataracts, then I have read that for pet cataracts they can be cured by putting diluted Apple Cider Vinegar into each eyes. Here is the recipe that Bragg's used on their 14 1/2 year old dog that had the cloudy cataracts in its eyes.

Bragg's Vinegar Eye Wash:
1/2 tsp Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
in a 4 oz. distilled water. You can use
an eyewash or as drops. Repeat
2 to 3 times daily. Keep solution
in closed eyes for 2 minutes.
Sometimes slight smarting occurs.

To tell if your dog has cataracts, have him look up to you at night time in a well light room and you will see a cloudy film over his eyes. Also, you can buy Apple Cider Vinegar in any health food store and I have bought it a Hy-Vee before. Good Luck!

the only way is to take the dog to a docter, also u haw not told what place u stay making it difficult to give any contacts.any ways u can ask ur local physician to check his eyes,if ur in india then search for karuna or peta or asha for animals on net find out there closest contect and take ur dog to that place.in short ur dog needs a vet docter and u have to take him there dont expect any body coming to ur place.if possible give ur location so that others can guide u properly.

Look up doctors in the area on the internet, if there are none, ask a friend or a family member what you should do. Sorry I didn't help much! :(

Defeintly take the trip out to a vet. Or some might come to you. There might not be anything you can do.
