I've never had surgery, but the people I know who have had gallbladder surgery have all told me that they feel SO MUCH BETTER after the surgery! Of course, you'll have some pain and need a few weeks to heal, but after that, things will be MUCH better.

Good luck.

One of my relatives had it done. They were in a lot of pain before so afterwards they felt a lot better. the procedure was done laproscopic. they made these really tiny cuts ... i mean like 1/4 of an inch , i can't remember how many , four or five maybe. stayed in the hospital for two days and then came home and recovered. they will give you pain medicine so it doesn't hurt so bad while you are there. it is hard to get into the bed / out of the bed , but it is best to listen to the nurses and get up and walk when they say it's time. don't forget to push the pain button so the medicine comes out ... and keep pushing it while you are getting in / out of bed and as you are walking. have someone walk with you , your relative or a nurse, so you don't fall down. the medicines make you weak/sleepy/impact your balance. you really need to do this because by walking you lessen your chances of blood clots / strokes. they prescribe a low fat diet and give you some tablets for pain if you need it. if you don't need it , then you don't have to take it. less chemicals the better, but do not be in pain. silly to be in pain just to avoid taking a pill that can help if it hurts really bad. don't beleive in being brave :-)
