It's when politicians should think about how they can be positively involved instead of punishing countries which should be spared judgment.

It's political theater. Senator Reid and the Democrats may have enough votes to pass a troop withdrawal resolution, but they don't have the votes to overcome a Presidential veto. Since "Searchlight Harry" Reid is the senior Senator from my own State, I'm dismayed at his sense of hypocrisy. He once created a furor about the "illegal wiretaps" program that the President engaged in, screaming that it was a violation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978. He never mentioned that the Congress had amended that law when they passed Public Law 107-108 (Intelligence Services Re-Authorization for FY 2002). Section 314 of that law gave the President authority to conduct electronic surveillance without court order for up to 72 hours. And Reid voted twice for that law! In fact, it passed the Senate by a vote of 100-0!
He droned on and on about the failure to find WMDs in Iraq, stating that this was the chief reason for the Senate to vote an authorization for military action against Iraq. apparently he never read Public Law # 107-243 before he voted "Aye". It listed seven reasons for using force. The WMD issue was only one of those reasons. and those reasons mirrored the ones contained in the Iraq Liberation Act (Public Law #105-338) which he voted for in 1998.
He's also the same Senator who considered members of the military to be "governmental employees" in correspondence we shared back in the early 1990s. So, I'm still waiting to see from where the source of his new-found concern for American G.I.s emanates.
Thank God there are re-runs of "Will And Grace" and old movies to get through the night. LOL!

LOL, that depends on what one's opinion of 'good' is does it not? I think it is absurd, but it will, hopefully, draw some attention to matters for some that have ignored it up until now.
