I have been going to several Catholic Churches in the San Jose and Monterey Area and wondered why they were always asking for money. No wonder! I am so glad I NEVER GAVE THEM A DIME!

Moron? Parasite?
How, in Jesus's name, can you deny that YOUR MONEY does not go into the church coffers to protect their priest and pay off sex abuse victims AKA as children? Where do you think your money goes? Buy bread and pay the PG and E bill? Right.... hahaha. You honestly think your Priest's is not thinking about sexually abusing children right now? Well at least 14% are (according to statisics).

All those collection plates, all the property they own, investments

The Catholic Church is one of the richest organizations in the world. They own more real estate, businesses, art treasures then anyone can know about. And they don't have to make any public disclosures about it either. That few billion dollar settlement doesn't make a dent in their financial portfolio.

Just a couple things that the Bible has to say. After reading them & thinking about it, put the shoe where it fits.

1 Timothy 4:1 However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, 2 by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; 3 forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth. 4 The reason for this is that every creation of God is fine, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is sanctified through God’s word and prayer over [it].

Matthew 6:7 But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. 8 So, do not make yourselves like them, for God YOUR Father knows what things YOU are needing before ever YOU ask him.

Matthew 23:9 Moreover, do not call anyone YOUR father on earth, for one is YOUR Father, the heavenly One. 10 Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for YOUR Leader is one, the Christ. 11 But the greatest one among YOU must be YOUR minister. 12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Those donations they ask for in no way go to fund the sexual abuse law suite settlements or any other financial causes other than funding your local diocese. In fact, the amounts they get from Sunday mass aren't enough to even make a down payment on a car, it's really just extra money so your diocese can function, but it's not their primary source of income.

You're also misunderstanding the recent settlement regarding the Catholic Church and the sexual abuse scandals. True many priests have been accused and may in fact abused minors. But the big news of the sexual abuse scandal is only for the LA Arch Diocese, that in no way affects other diocese other than itself. Now the LA Arch Diocese is the largest and most influential diocese of any throughout the Roman Catholic Church so what happens with them becomes big news.

But even it's settlements are being paid for by Arch Diocese savings and property sales. So don't expect that what you would give on Sunday to carry any lea way, you're giving your money too much credit.

Infact if the Church were to use the money the collected for charity to pay for any outside finacial cause other than charity, for example the LA Arch Dioceases' settlement, they could be facing investiagtion for perjury and stealing. So if say your church was having a collection for food for people in Africa, the money they collect goes from the basket to the church's account, and the church would cut the charity organization a check for the money raised.

I am not one to defend the Catholic Church from anything, especially with it's sexual abuse scandals, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the Church is not using your generosity as ways of financially dealing with the fact that some priests just can't keep it in their pants.

The catholic church has real estate and other investments. Then on Sunday and other Holydays they tell you how they need money for this building fund, never the starving children in Africa. The church has been extremely wealthy for centuries.

So you go, cause wear and tear on the parking lot, the building, the furnishings, benefit from the lighting and climate control, perhaps use water in the restroom, which has to be cleaned, and don't donate even one DIME? Parasite.

Be better if they just let them have spouses, huh?

Never understood how the Catholic priesthood was Biblically justified. Makes no sense at all to be the worst example or, at best, a non-example of what you're preaching regarding family.

Where does the money come from? From gullible people who believe that statues of Mary bleed tears and magically appear on pieces of cheese or bread. God, I hope she doesn't show up on rolls of toilet paper, or the proctologists are going to be busy with alot of impacted folks for years to come.

They're asking for money so they can make the payments of their bills, taxes, wine and wafers, bibles and rosaries, repairs, food for the priest, nuns, monks...cars and gas, outfits for the priests, nuns, and monks...money for orphanages, all the charity they do.

It is not just for scandals. They have trillions of dollars....
