You are not out for revenge, just protecting your son and as such you need to remember that you can't be with him all the time.
I would install a camera in the house to record this mans actions, I would also suggest asking these friends who are so willing to beat him up to spend some time in your house, make them a deterent.
Then I would go to the police with your evidence, it doesn't matter what action you take, this man will always be terrorising you if you do not find a way to remove him.
A beating will only slow him down until he recovers, use all of your resources to remove him from your world legally and permenantly. remember - having him beaten makes you no better - how will that look to your youngest son?
Take only the action you can live with and brace yourself for his response.
It might take time but you can beat him at this game, you have something he doesn't, brains! Use them!!

I can't believe what some of the morons here are saying! Pray for your enemy!

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. So you pray for the guy who might one day stick a knife in you or your son!

Whilst I think a damn good battering is probably the only language he'll understand, you get into a tit for tat, you'll start finding things like bricks through your windows because he obviously thinks he can do what he wants.

The first and foremost thing to remember about revenge in any capacity, is if you hit someone back, make sure they don't get up.

First of all, I'd contact the police, he's assaulted a minor, trespassed, displayed threatening behaviour and theft. That would be more than enough to get an injunction against him, prohibiting him from coming with 200 yards of you or yor family. If he breaks the injunction it's off to prison.

I cant believe you haven't called the police yet, I'd have called them on each and every occasion, he's terrorizing you in your own home.

Still, ultimately, the police cant always do anything (too busy catching real criminals like speeding motorists apparently......)

If the police route doesn't work, then, much as I don't agree, I'd part with a hundred notes to have a local bouncer throw him in a van and drive him to a nice deserted area for a hiding. Just be damn careful about who you tell..........

Revenge goes against all of Jesus's teachings. So if you are Christian you are going against the principles in which we stand for.

There are also those who believe in karma, and also will tell you that it's not right to be revengeful.

Honestly, I think most important is the example that you are giving your 16 year old son. I think you should show your son, how to be the bigger person by not being revengeful. If this man is a problem I would suggest a restraining order, or calling the police the next time he shows up uninvited.

Forget the moral and spiritual ramifications. Forget getting this guy beat up though. You have to take a stand on your own and tell this dude to piss off. He won't respect you if you are afraid of him or have someone else do your dirty work for you. Tell him he is no longer welcome in your home. Call the cops and get an order of protection against him if he shows up again. This guy is intimidating you and your family because he knows you are vulnerable; not because you are a single mom but because you are a pushover. It's time to stand up for yourself and your home by setting clear boundaries. If he violates those boundaries, call the police and get an order of protection. If he violates your home or family again, you will be able to have him arrested. Get some advice from the cops in your neighborhood. They know more about this than the Bible does (Yes - everyone can give me thumbs down for saying this - I don't mind). Paying someone to beat him up can land you in jail.

I think sometimes revenge can bring a closure for the victim. It has to be the right kind of revenge and approached properly ie legal channels. If it is launched into headlong can come back and nip you hard. So as they say revenge is best served cold when logical thinking is in place and the result has the desired effect of freeing in some way from the abuser.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.
That is a famous quote. Keep it in mind.

Your first problem is to stop this punk.
Think about that first.

You might have to execute him in a legally defensible manner.
Have you talked to the police about this yet.
Hopefully there might be less extreme solutions.

PS. contracting it out usually just leaves you worse off than before. You are always better to do it yourself. Hiring a contract or obtaining offencive weapons indicates premeditation which rules out self defence.

Revenge will change you as much as it changes him. If you have him beaten up you will then be afraid of HIS revenge and you will no longer be blameless - you will have lost the moral high ground. However you must find a way to stop him - If you have a large scary friend who can ask this fellow very politely to stop coming round, this will probably work very well. Dangerous looking people speaking in soft tones and politely are usually scarier that shouting yobs....

Legal implications are that you hired a thug to beat him up, making you in deep deep trouble. Felony time.

It's best to say plainly and unequivocally that he isn't welcome in the house or on the property and that if he enters you'll call the police for trespassing.

Police usually take care of those situations pretty well, either arresting the guy and he's stuck cleaning crap off the side of the highway for trespass, burglary whatever, or he resists and they beat him, taser him and mace him.

But hiring a thug will just come back to haunt you.

no,
if he walks into your house lock the doors and the next time he is in your house uninvited call the police, if hes doing it to you he is probably doing it to others, get with the neighbors and find out, if you ban together you can fight this guy the right way, you need to call the police for him beating up your son

Course it doesn't work- look at Iraq. Hell, look at gang shootings in the US. One guy kills your guy, so you and your pals go and kill one of their guys, so they come and kill on of your guys, then you go and kill one thei-

Revenge never works- it just incites revenge in return. After a while you forget why you're fighting and it just escallates.

Might I suggest... calling the police? Getting photos of this guy in the act?

PS: Revenge and using it has nothing to do with Christianity or any other religion. It's simply a question of being a decent human being and living a good life. We don't need outdated 'religion' to tell us that.
