... can he/she still be considered Christian?

Such as, believing that going to Church on Sunday is sufficient when Christianity is supposed to work through them every minute of their life.

By no means is this an attack on Christianity, it could happen to any believer of any causes but I happen to be reading on Christianity.

They are still considered a Christian, because that is who they affiliate themselves with. But some would say that they are not Good Christians. True believers of the fayth live the fayth. Every minute of every day.

There are more who think they are Christian than actualy are True Christians. Only God may confirm the title Christian.
Even those of The True Christian Faith are weak in their mortal flesh... some do a better job of holding to the strict path of The Faith... But... once one is of The Church of which Jesus Christ is The Head... that is, of The True Christian Faith... the one is forever a Christian... there is no such thing as an "ex" Christian.
btw...there is disagreement even among those of The Faith as to whether Sunday of Saturday is The Sabbath... but, the position one takes on that issue dose not prevent one from coming to God in The Way He prescribes and becoming a True Christian.

The term "Christian" basically means "follower of Christ" so by definition, if you don't "follow" the teachings of Jesus, you can't possibly be a Christian!

The bible makes it clear that God knows the heart of every man. Having a sincere desire to following the teachings of Jesus is what makes someone a Christian...but like all people, Christians aren't perfect. Even Peter, who had the great honor of living and working with Jesus while he was on this earth, denied knowing him three times on the morning Jesus was killed! All four gospels tell stories of Jesus chastizing his disciples for their lack of faith or for their failure to follow his instructions!

Personally, I don't think going to church on Sunday has anything to do with being a Christian. Jesus didn't go to church, he prayed alone on a mountain. In fact, I've been a Christian for over 30 years and I became an official "member" of a church for the first time less than a year ago! I joined my church because I it gives me the opportunity to learn new ways to follow the teaching of Jesus and because it gives me the opportunity to be with other people that all desire to follow his teachings...that's the true value of church attendance.

I like what Keith Green said: Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger.

I miss Keith Green.

Your question is deeper than I think you realize - being a Christian has nothing to do with what family or faith you're born into, or even what you call yourself. The essence of Christianity is a whole-hearted devotion to Jesus (He didn't make up the word Christian; the word means "little Christ" and was originally used by non-believers to mock Jesus' followers. - see Acts chapter 2)

Many people claim to be Christians ( a broad term these days) and know Jesus and yet do not truly know Him. Once you are saved, you are saved forever, even if you only go to church on Sundays.

1. No one is good enough. "There is no one righteous, not even one;" - Romans 3:10 2. You are a sinner. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23 3. God loves us, even though we are sinners. "But God demonstrates His Love for us, in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8 4. The provision - God's Gift. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23 "For it is by the grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 5. There must be repentance of sin (turning away from sin). "Repent and believe the Good News!" - Mark 1:15 6. The required action - believe and confess. "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." - Romans 10:9-10 7. The result - Salvation. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord WILL BE SAVED." - Romans 10:13 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12

Well,

People are saved because they renounce their sins and beg for the forgiveness of Christ. But if a person is truly sorry would they continue to conduct themselves outside the teachings of Christ?

I think yes and no.

A recovering alcoholic can try their whole lives to defeat their affliction, but in weak moments may unfortunately slip up. In this case they were sorry before they did it, and being human they made a mistake.

On the other hand, if someone kicks you in the shin, apologizes, kicks you in the shin, apologizes over and over again are they really sorry? My opinion is no.

Christ's forgiveness is infinite, and he will forgive us for anything.

But truly being sorry implies that you wish not to do it, and I think that going to a church to clean your slate while having no intentions of bettering yourself is walking a fine line.

That said, I have to tell you that I could be wrong.

No, they are not.

I do not go to church, I am a Christian...or so say I, but those who say we must go to His house on the sabbath and give our 10% can kiss it! (and you know what I mean by it) I don't have to give nothing to God except my love and belief. If I spread His word and follow His commandments, I am a good Christian. I just don't think it's nesscessary to give 10% so we can spread the word. I would rather give 100% of myself for that.

According to "Christians" (if these are the types of Christians I think you're talking about), they believe in "Once Saved, Always Saved". They think that they can't lose their salvation.

Only God knows our hearts...

We all have our "falls" when our faith gets low or we might stop attending church and so on. The bible even talks about it... But Jesus forgives us, he will always be there.

We are saved through grace not actions.
