I am new at being on a credit card. I was told that I have good credit (thankfully). But my credit card company, Capital One, I hear is a bad company, that they rip teenagers off. I have noticed some things on my statements that I don't like. What are some better credit card companies? And is Capital One really all that bad? I mean, I've heard that they are getting sued. Thanks.

ok. i work at a credit card company. I would personally say Premier Bank Card can help. It rebuilds and/or establishes credit. many people get cards here for credit. capital one is a joke. they have high interest fees of 19.20% & higher and monthly and annual fees that are overpriced. of cousre every credit card company has fees but if your on top of line its only a min of 20 a month

My first credit card was a Capital One card at age 18. If you have never had a credit card before then you probably don't have very much credit (I had a car loan before my card and it still wasn't anything for my credit). I am now 27 and I have no problem. You just have to pay your bills ON TIME and follow your limits. With an active card and no problem, you can call like every six months or a year and see if you can get your interest rate lowered. Mine is like 4.99%, which my friend said was impossible but mine is.

Credit cards aren't good or bad. Pay your balance in full every month and it shouldn't make any difference which one you have. Pay the payment 2 weeks before it is due so you are sure it gets there on time. If they don't cash your check a few days before it is due go on the website and pay it again. Limit your spending to what you can pay off easily each month.

There's been a lot of 'bad press' about Capital One. But there's also millions of loyal customers. As long as you abide by the 'Term and Conditions' of your credit card agreement, you shouldn't have any problems.

But it never hurts to shop around and compare other offers. You might find that another credit card is better suited to your personal needs and interests. Here's a good place to shop around if you're considering another offer:

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

ok, i had a capital one card for 15 years and never had a problem with them. the one's that i have had problems with is merrick bank and household bank. they like to change your interest rate higher and higher all the time for no reason, and they claim they haven't received payments when they have. i know people who have had car loans through capital one and have had problems but not with their credit cards. just pay your bills on time so that you avoid high late charges. i would stick with capital one for now unless you start having problems with them, but i doubt you will. good luck
