i have a 1996 mustang cobra, new engine with the same amount of horsepower as the original(305HP) & the rest is stock, except for a K&N air filter & 2 Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Im planning on getting a Kenne Bell supercharger. with what i have now and with the addition of the supercharger what kind of horsepower am i looking at?? what kind of horsepower am i looking at if i also add a cold air kit??

My goal is 500 HP....
with what i have now and with the addition of the supercharger and the cold air kit....without adding nitrous or replacing the cams, is my goal possible? what would you recommend i add as well to reach my goal?

You can absolutely get to 500hp with the kenne bell supercharger kit. It comes with a boost a pump, bigger injectors and everything you need for the supercharger to run effectively. With the kenne bell, cold air intake, and flowmasters you are looking at around 460hp with no intercooler and a very safe tune. I will list a webpage for you to go to that will give you all the info you want.

Also check out this webpage so you know what you can do with an intercooler and more agressive tune. (note, for the second web adress these are the results of the 2.1L kenne bell on a gt stang so add 90hp to these number to get the results for your cobra)

Now, you have to remember that while your 96 cobra engine is a very reliable engine it is not a built engine like the ones on the 03/04 cobras so unless you want to build up your engine with forged internals you should really stay under the 500hp mark. If it were me I would run between 450-475hp at the most to stay safe.
Good luck and have fun.

You can't just stuff more air in the engine without increasing the fuel flow as well. You will need to change the fuel injectors and probably the fuel injection software map to get 500 hp.

Even then, it will be difficult to add 200 hp. A stock engine will be stressed by this and eventually blow up. Balancing and blueprinting and changing pistons and connecting rods is the way to make 500 hp.

And then you can start worrying about the transmission and rear end blowing up. They were not designed for 500 hp.

It is hard to be accurate on paper. But I don't think you will be at 500 HP with just the SC.
Additional Items that could help you get there;
Larger Throttle Body, Injectors and high flow fuel pump.
Some pulleys
Intercooler
That should get you there.
Good Luck,

cold air intake will get you about 5-10 extra HP, but it depends on which supercharger you get will effect how much of a HP gain you have.

just chip it and get it over with, forget all the mods make the cpu do the work for you. a chip will change so much, ignition timing,injector duration, too much to list.
