This is a link to a youtube audio clip of a radio conversation between Kent Hovind and a molecular biologist. Kent is asked to give an example of what applications can come from creationism and how they can benefit humanity.

It leads to a profound question; how can religious doctrine benefit humanity? Kent couldn’t answer it because I think he knew religion can’t but he didn’t want to say it because religion is his livelihood (or will be when he gets out of jail).

Religious doctrine is fundementally wrong as it sets out an absolute which must be conformed too irrespective of the circumstances, when morals and situations are infinitely flexible.

A religious doctrine that would benefit us in one sitaution/era would cause chaos and upset in the next.

Ie: BIBLE TIMES: No condoms. Ergo, no sex before marriage, no kids out of wedlock, no STIs going around.

NOWDAYS: We have contraception so its not a problem, and causes huge emotional upset and suffering and creates religious sects who refuse to abandon it.

Same with the no gays thing, etc, etc.

Creationism is about INTELLEGENT BEINGS DESIGNING THINGS

Ipods
Microwaves
TV sets
Radios
CD players
Houses
Hot Water Heaters

These things don't grow on TREES YOU know.

Seedless Watermellons do not come NATURALLY.

They are CREATED

That is CREATIONISM.

What it boils down to is an EGO MATTER

MAN is the SOLE CREATIONIST or NOT

Is there SOMEONE GREATER THAN MAN

To say NO is go pull an ego trip

One day a space alien can arrive at Earth from a distance of 500 light years and that person will make us look like MONKEYS

The EGO trip will end.

To DENY the existance of GOD is to say MAN is the greatest creator of all times.

That is purely an EGO trip.

First of all, as another Kent I officially distance myself.

If their Kent is the best Creationists can do, their cause is doomed.

Religious dogma does not benefit humanity. Like scientific inquiry, religious inquiry can enrich us - but like real science, real religion isn't about pre-fabricating the outcomes of those inquiries.

Nevermind creationism:
Tell the truth and love one another. Don't tell lies and don't do what you don't want others to do.
Forgive and be forgiven, don't hate your neighbors in your heart, and don't keep holding grudges, try to co-operate and help and protect the children and the weak.
Sounds beneficial to me. But does anyone do this? It sounds to me like either you don't, or you never saw anyone who ever did. And if that is really the case, that is very sad.

if one can get people to believe things that are unsupported by evidence, they become emotionally attached to these stories and dependent on their authority figures to reassure them that any contradictions are not real or at least not significant. at that point it's easier to control people in any way that one might want, since the authority figures can't be refuted because they never have to refer to evidence for their claims. that's all creationism is good for.

Since creationism is faulty, the applications received through it are faulty as well.
