All I hear about on here is sin and how strong the devil is and how he tricks you or makes you weak. I must not have this problem since I believe in neither god nor a devil. I have never been arrested, clean criminal and driving history, never struck anyone in anger, never cheated in any relationship, give time and money to the community, donate to world relief efforts(even Christian if they are an effective organization), don't drink, don't do drugs, maintain a registered wildlife habitat and care for animals, don't kill anything (spiders go outside), love my wife, love my son, personally care for my parents health, and YET I am told I am hellbound simply because I don't believe. Boggles the mind.

No, I don't really care what happens when I die and don't believe in heaven nor hell. It's just when people judge me simply because I don't believe on YA. Tad unChristian to start and pretty rude.
Didn't mean to sound like a show off LOL...sorry if it looks that way. Just making a point about judging people. Actually I'm quite boring. :P

It sure does. My original, smart *** thought when I read your question was "You don't have to believe in God. You ARE God", You are, in fact, a good man and a gentleman and I salute you.

Benjamin Franklin believed he was practically perfect in every way, as did Mary Poppins. However they both struggled with the incredibly confusing capital sin, PRIDE. Paradise Lost is a good read if you really want something to boggle the mind. More to the point, there is more to Christian theology than the practice of acceptable social norms. Followers are affected by Christianity's strangeness and depth whether or not they are aware of the source of their own beliefs. Perhaps that is why they can't explain why you're going to hell. All I can gather from your post is that you may be a bit proud. Dangerous ground you're walking on! Just kidding.

Then I must be hellbound also because I don't believe in what doesn't exist. Followers of any religion will often try and force stuff they believe is right. Like Jehovahs Witnesses is the best example I can think of. I swear after I move out if they ever come to my door they will get the finger and a door slammed in there face.
I am like, hey, whatever works for you (to the JW's), but its a drug I don't care to prescribe to. Its like one in one ear and out the other for me. I can do good without believing in him (purposely not capitalizing the "h" btw).
As for the existence of the devil, people can't seriously believe that it exists. We create our own hell and the only devil is the one within ourselves. We just must choose to make right choices.
Like the bible. I will admit there are some really good wisdom in there, but all that delusional bs thats in there is filtered out. I don't read it, but have read a few lines.
Also, its cool that you don't kill spiders.

As a man myself who does alot of the same things, in my book you're a decent person. But in matters of belief and faith, it comes down to choosing which side you are on. In a matter with such serious and eternal consequences, one is not afforded the luxury of straddling the fence. It reminds me of the the old Rush song "Freewill"; "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice". It seems to me a thing most easy to do, believing and learning how to have faith that is. I really don't see why people have a problem with this. What is the big deal? But, if someone decides it's not for them, that's their decision and I'm certainly not going to try and "convert" them. They have their own mind and their own awareness of what's at stake. They just don't see the big picture.

You may or may not do all these things, good and bad, but you are mis-understanding the point. Works and good deeds do not save you from the penalty of sin. Sin originates in your mind and God says what you think about doing, you are guilty of doing. Wishing harm to someone, is the same as doing harm to someone in Gods eyes. God is perfectly sinless and Holy, and our minds cannot even begin to comprehend how Holy He is and how sinful we are to Him. God doesn't condemn us all to hell because we are sinners, He chooses to have fellowship with us for all eternity. All He asks of us is that we acknowledge Him and Love Him as He loves us.
The things you are doing are wonderful, but they cannot take the place of Jesus dying on that cross. He died and rose again, this is where the victory is found, it is in Him and Through His Love and Sacrifice that we are redeemed. Keep doing the good things you do and start giving God the Glory, accept Christ Jesus as your Savior and thank Him for giving you the means and the opportunity to do these good deeds.
You could forsake all these good deeds and simply believe in Christ Jesus as God Almighty and it would be enough. It is your Faith in Christ Jesus that saves you. It is not what you do, rather, it is what you believe. The thief on the cross is a good example of this, he did no good deeds, rather, he was a lifelong criminal and at the last few moments of his life he looked to Jesus and said: "Remember me Lord when you come into your kingdom" To which Jesus replied: "Verily I say to you, this day you will be with me in Paradise" This mans Faith saved him, it had nothing to do with the works he did or didn't do....Faith is what God wants.
God Bless You....Peace.

Actually most Christians don't understand karma, What goes around comes around. and they will have to suffer for their sin like everyone else. You will not suffer for your good actions you will get good reactions to your good actions. There is a place called the subterranean hellish planets where those who do very good works and deeds and are athiests, go to get their very good karma. It is a planet situated just below the earth planet, but it has all the opulence's of heaven. The only thing it does not have is the conception of God nor the conception of death. Everyone is enjoyng like antyhing there and totally in ignorance of the existence of God or reality. That is a type of hell for those who love God. For us that is suffering. This knowledge is written in the Vedas Specifically the Srimadbhagavatam which is the science of God and the whole creation and the soul. It all makes sense. I find most atheists like you aren't really atheists, they just haven't found the actual truth that makes sense. I have a friend and he was like that,(though he really denied the existance of God) but when he read the books of Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada he understood things as they are,and is now a very nice devotee of Krishna. He just couldn't accept the hell damnation hate and the way they made God out ot be. Now he understands karma, reincarnation, and no one goes to hell eternally and how unlimited merciful God is. Check it out. read Bhagavad Gita as it is on line asitis.com the science of God. He is so kind that if one doesn not want to believe in Him He will tell His illusiory energy (Maya devi) to make sure they don't see Him or undertand Him, just so they can live out their illusion. That is free will and his kindness for those who want to be seperated from Him. You don't go to hell for that, you go to hell for your sinful actions. free will means you are allowed to not believe in Him. Even then he gives you all your gifts you deserve and what every you deserve acording to your actions. How can you not be greatful to such a Supreme Person as God.

The long and short of it is that God does exist and he is Holy. He cannot tolerate sin in any measure. Mother Theresa and Hitler are similar in that they are both lacking compared to God's standard of perfection. It may seem to us that there is a major difference between the two (and there is) but to God we all fall short of perfection and cannot be near him in our blemished state. When we die we will meet God and stand accountable to Him. If we are perfect (which no-one is) we will be saved. If not, we will have to be sent away from Him. It is not about being and doing good things ( which is admirable) it is about being clean enough to be in God's presence. All of us fall way short in that regard.

The word sin is used to create "fear"
A SIN they call, I call a MISTAKE
And we all make mistakes
And we are here to learn from our mistakes, for our own personal growth
We all have good and bad that is the balance we have to find
Sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind
Some see as cruel we may see as being kind.
People only fear what they don't understand
Love & Blessings

People who don't understand, tend to judge. Most - NOT ALL - overly religious people who have the gall to tell someone else that they're going to hell are simply very uintelligent people, who have been told to think like that - mindless sheep who are unable to think openly and on their own. It's a shame.

It's not simply because you don't believe.Comparatively speaking, some of us are just good people and these are the ones who have a harder time seeing their sin. We all have sinned, every single one of us. Even you. And we need forgiveness for these sins no matter how small or what they are, to stand before a holy God.Have you never looked with lust in your heart? Have you never lied, ever? Have you ever taken the Lord's name in vain? Have you ever stolen anything, even as small as a pen from work? If your answer to all these is, no, then you probably are guilty of the 2nd one. The point is we all have sin and need Christs forgiveness to be able to stand guiltless before God. All our righteousness is as filthy rags. The Bible says that because we say we have no sin, then our sin will remain with us. The fact that you are here asking this question is a good thing. Something is drawing you to search. I pray the Holy Spirit will draw you and show you your sin and need for a Savior.John the Baptist came before Christ to prepare the way for the Lord by preaching repentance of sin. You first have to see your need before you can "believe".God bless!!
