I was at the beach in california with my a few of my friends and I was the oldest one there. I was only standing with my friends watching them fishing. I wasn't holding nothing on my hands, while One of my friend were fishing. He was actually holding the fishing reel with a fish hanging onto it when the police officer got to us. One police officer came and told me to give out any infomation that he needed and told me to sign something. i did everything that was asked. Then told him that I wasn't fishing at all and that I was only visiting...watching my friends and other people fishing only.

I went to court for that case. The judge asked me to pay the find, but I said I don't except it because I'm not guilty. I explain to the judge what exactly was happending at that time. He then set another court date for this. Apparently I forgot that court date so I didn't show up for it. I had a warrant for that. Tomorrow I have court and I'll show up for sure. Any adivce???

" was it okay for them to be fishing?...then the cops come and tell you to give any information?...you tell cop you weren't fishing?"

ok, the cop asked my friends and I for "any information" which is ID etc. The cop looked at everyone IDs and told me to sign it. I told him that I wasn't fishing i, but he still told me to sign it so I did what I was told.

I was the only one to sign it the paper, after he looked at everyone ID.

because you did not show up for the last court date you entered a plea of guilty. that is how the judge looks at it. don't show up alone bring a lawer with you. this is not going to make you happy. this is what is going to happen. when you show up its not for the case against you its for not showing up in court when you were supposed too. the judge could order you jailed then post bond making sure you show up for the next one. you should have paid the fine. now it's really going to mess you up. the judge see it as a means to settle and not take up the courts valuable time. buy placing you under arrest. then offering you a deal take it unless you have money to burn as well as time. take into account the point even if it's stupid your name if arrested will be posted on the internet for every one to say, what ever mom, inlaws etc, so called friends. but heed my warning don't show up with out a lawer that knows whats going on otherwise you will not be offered the choice. you can get a free lawer before court if needed look at warrent. also if you get stoped for any reason and they run your name as stupid as it sounds you have an arrest warrent for you and they have to take you in so untill court walk on egg's sorry but you missed it not me. not this time anyway and by the way mine was expired boat sticker and yes i missed court date and yes in court they arrested me and yes I had a lawer to step in and cut the deal paid ticket plus 35 for costs and no I didn't grumble. and don't you eather. luck

This is what this long, boring, poorly written narrative is all about? Fishing without a permit? The reason you got a ticket and your friends didn't is probably because they are under 16, and aren't required to have a fishing license. You'll have a fine for the violation, and possibly for failing to appear for your original court date. Move to Florida, you don't need a license to saltwater fish there.

Swallow your pride and pay the fine, apologize for wasting court time and learn from the experience. Don't make excuses for your actions, it will only make the judge and jury a little more likely to worsen the punishment.

Whether you're guilty or not, you failed to return to court on your set date and that itself is a crime. So learn from this, being in the area of someone committing a crime and not acting to stop it can be considered aiding, thats probably what they have charged you with.

Learn from it, take the fine, and dont make it any more serious, this wont go on your record if you are careful....and therefore you can forget about it after.

In future, attend court when you are ordered to, and dont mess around the judges.

You did do something. Several things in fact.

You signed the citation, thus acknowledging receipt of it.

You didn't show up for the court date, thus effectively not mounting any defense.

You need to show up to the court date, apologize for missing the earlier court date, pay the fine for missing the earlier court date, and then make your defense against the citation.

The issue is going to be whether you contributed to the illegal action (whatever the citation was for) that someone else did. It's called accomplice liability, and it applies if you assisted someone in breaking the law.

tell the judge the truth and see how it goes. I wish you all the best!

To my understanding you got arrested because you were there watching your friends fishing while you weren't fishing or anything right? Maybe is it beacuse your friends are younger then you are they're under the age of 18 and you are older then 18?

All u can do is tell the truth..the whole truth and nothin but the truth....what else can you do...just tell the judge what happened...I don't think you should be fined...I wish cops would go and do something more productive like...pulling someone over for reckless drinvin...or catching the bad guys and getting them off the streets!!! What the hell!!!...they r wasting everyones time and money over this stupid incident...when they should be out protecting the city!!!

Bring all, or as many friends as you can that were there when the incident took place. Have them tell your story too. If you have no witnesses, its your word against the officer.

I believe someone below was eluding to "you shouldn't have signed the citation."

Had you refused to sign it, you would have been placed in handcuffs and booked right then. There is not a doubt in mind, as that's what we do in CA when one refuses to sign a "promise to appear."

How do you want the steak ? For a medium-uncommon to medium steak, broil it at 500* F on the element of the right of the oven for 2-3 minutes consistent with side. For extra properly accomplished, bake it at around 4 hundred*F interior the midst of the oven for 10-15minutes, even yet it might desire to dry out the steak. i might quite see you prepare dinner it much less, its much extra useful in my opinion. Broiling is a dry warmth technique so do no longer use water.

Show up on time, dress nicely and be polite.
I know you didn't do anthing wrong but, they decide, not you.
Ask if you may speak and that calmly state what you have to say.

I'm no laywer or anything like that but thats what I would do.

Good luck.

You will need witness's to prove you were not fishing. Your friend will have to come forward and back you up.
The burden of proof is on you. Good luck
