Non denominational Churches by what they teach and believe are generally Armenians. They derive their doctrinal authority from the Bible, but put a great deal of emphasis on personal interpretation. They also generally are Decision theologists, teaching that one must accept Christ personally. This puts the onus on us to obtain our salvation from Christ. This cheapens the the "bitter sufferings and death of our Lord Jesus Christ.

While non-denominational are Armenian in practice and teachings some also lean a bit towards Calvinism by adding a bit of once saved, always saved predestination.

I guess the bottom line is non-denominational have no unifying doctrine, and they let personal feelings, experience, and interpretation influence what the believe.

I know people that belong to the same non-d Church. They all believe different things regarding the same point of doctrine.

Father K, This "my Church is better than yours" stuff is starting to sound like penis envy. I know that you have to toe the party line, but lately it sounds like the Roman Church is starting to feel a little insecure. I guess if I got up everyday and told myself that I am better than everyone else, I would soon believe it.

Non Denominational Churches Near Me

There is no such thing as a nondenominational church. A church is defined by its beliefs. The only way a church could be nondenominational is to have no set beliefs at all. That would make it pretty difficult to be a church. A church that doesn't align itself with a pre-existing denomination is simply a new denomination, one more rift in Christianity, one more deviation from the stated will of God, "that they all may be ONE".

Also, your notion of church history is rather skewed. The one Church founded by Jesus christ for all mankind was and still is united in belief, united in teaching, and united in worship, as it has been for 2,000 years. It hasn't "broken up" into anything. That Church is the Catholic Church. In addition, there are a great many unauthorized, manmade churches which have broken away FROM the true Church founded by Jesus Christ, over the past few hundred years, and which teach a mixture of actual Christian truth, retained from their Catholic roots, and new traditions of men introduced by their various human founders. These are the churches known as "denominations".

Well by design a nondenominational church is supposed to believe the original teachings of the Bible and not incorporate denoninatinol doctrine. The problem I see with nondenominational churches is that they don't really know what to believe and sort of make things up as they go. They usually learn towards emotionalism and the charasmatic side. I would question what you are taught. It may be that you are being taught the correct message.

Non-denominational groups have no official doctrine. They just accept everyone who believes in Jesus. They say they are based on the Bible, but so do the denominational churches. The main difference is that denominational churches have certain doctrines that are shared by other churches within that organization (for example, you can have a church in LA and a church in NY that teach the same doctrines, if they are in the same denomination). Non-denominational churches don't branch out into multiple congregations. It is very unlikely that you would find the same non-denominational church in NY that you found in LA, for example.

I was raised in a Bapthis Church, attended Catholic school and therefore attended some of the services, I joined a non-denominational church in 2010. We are taught to read the word of God from King James, not something made up. Yes, the pastor dose intergrate his own life experiences into the service at times, so we may understand that he is a man of flesh and blood like us, that he makes mistakes and it's ok, God loves us and knows that will sometimes fall short of his Grace. Myself personally, if you believe in God and believe in the son Jeseus Christ, and in your heart when you think of all he did for us, and you are brought to tears, it dose not really matter what the tile of your church is, because you already and the sprit of God with you.

Your all wrong my friend if it comes to denominational non-demoninational is the newest thing that came out of the 1990's in the United States......Non-denominational churches dont believe what the early christians believe and they in a way say that for non confertational use....If you want to know more about the early christians i will suggest an awesome book by Mike Aqualina titled "The Mass of The early Christians" Theres a lot of history out there about the truth.. i would suggest if your really trying to get serious about which denomination holds true to the early chirstian beliefs read this a book and book about the early fathers who raised christianity from a small religion to how big it is today

It means to me that you don't have the guts to take a stand on what you really believe..you just go along to get along..sorry but you did ask. Everyone forms an opinion of what they believe to be the truth after reading the Bible and talking to others. A nondenominational Church is a non church in my opinion...it appeals to the masses. If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.

And just for the record, I have yet seen a ND Church that does not look down on those tongues speaking Pentecostal..my SIL had one man tell her, he had better not catch one of them, praying over his sick wife..so much for non denominational..
