What are your views on all the recent nationwide immigration rallies? Do you feel that persons coming to America should be able to do so without applying for legal citizenship status? Are there other countries that will allow you to come there and live without applying for citizenship? How do you feel this might affect the country in the long run? Do you feel the actions the government is taking are fair and logical? What would be your suggestions?

Well Sehr_Klug 50 I have many useful things to do but you are answering questions (Top Contributor I might add) so you must be the one with nothing useful to do. By the way America is a COUNTRY located on the CONTINENT of NORTH AMERICA. Looks like you are the one who needs the Geography lesson. My question was just that – a question. It had nothing mean or spiteful in it and was asked in a way to get different points of view. You are obviously angry with the people who answered in a way with which you don’t agree. By the way, if we are such ignorant bigots why do you wish to live here????

I don't think the illegal immigrants have any right to violate our nation's sovereignty by coming here illegally and demanding that our government conduct business in Spanish and that school classes be taught in Spanish and demand free citizenship while waving the Mexican flag and screaming about Mexican pride.

I have no problem with legal immigrant. Follow the laws, and I'll welcome you here with open arms. Learn our language, pay your taxes, and become a functional and contributing member of society.

But don't expect pity from me because you came here illegally and are mad because the government won't do business in Spanish for your benefit.

I believe nationwide immigration rallies are within the bounds of our civil liberties. If I were an illegal alien I would avoid such rallies because; I don't have any rights in this country, I am here illegally, what a great way to identify illegal aliens then at an immigration rally, illegal aliens can't get a permit to have a rally ie. illegals have no rights.

Wake up! The law is 'THE LAW' You can't come to America unless you come here legally. Look at it this way... lets start using Mexico as a toxic waste dump up to and including all our nuclear waste. We Americans just have to get rid of it and South of the border has all this unused desert. Mexico has so much of it... why wouldn't Mexico just start letting us run it across the border at night and just leave it there. Who is it going to hurt? It's in the middle of the desert and Mexico has so, so much of it. Don't you care about the environment? Don't you care that this nuclear waste is housed close to were Americans live and work? Why don't you share your desert with America and let us dump all the toxic things we have there? Why do you make ugly faces when I suggest this? Why do I even tell you this? Why don't I just start doing what 12.5 million Mexicans did... and just do it what I want regardless of laws.

I am not aware of one country that will allow you to enter it's borders and then apply for citizenship. Isn't that putting the cart before the horse?

The reason this country is so great is that we planned for certain number of people living in a certain area. Resources were structured to provide a 'good' standard of living. The infrastructure was paid for by our forefathers with taxes and floating of bonds. Our forefathers did not plan for an additional 12.5 million people who can't even function in our society ie speak, read and write English. The system is overloaded and now... the standard of living is declining because the goods and services weren't designed for this many people and they weren't designed for Mexicans and 'their' culture. As a result, Federal programs which were designed to support 33 million Californians are now underfunded because there are an additional 10.1 million illegal aliens living there. In order to compensate, Federal programs in other states are under funded or cut. That makes me mad. I pay taxes and I want my money invested in my state not in California on illegal aliens.

Were are the public service messages in Mexico saying (In Spanish) "It is illegal to cross the border without the proper paperwork. You will be prosecuted to the full extend of the law. Don't go to the US. They don't want you!"

So here is what is going to happen in the long run. California and most border States will become under funded bilingual slums. Those who can move out will and leaving the scum behind. Like a virous more Mexicans will follow those with the money. Illegal immigration will continue to move North throughout this great country. Our Government will rot from within. Everything that our forefathers worked so hard to achieve will be for not.

If I was to have a rally in Mexico City against illegal Mexican imigration to the United States flying the US Flag on top of the Mexican flag and the Mexican flag flying upside down would I be protected? Would I be safe? Would I have to get a permit? Can non - Mexicans get rally permits? So what if I can't get one and want to have a rally anyway... would I be stopped or arrested? Would I be attacked by Mexicans who felt that my rally was offensive? Would I be lynched and killed? Would they say racist things?

The problem with immigration rallies is that the legals don't know the difference between them and the illegals. That is a large reason that the hispanic community seems like they are sticking together.

I asked several immigrants that are legal about what they were supporting. They thought that the government was threatening to send ALL immigrants home, not just illegals.

That underlines the importance of speaking English. Whoever wants chaos will not learn English. The hispanic community needs to learn English so that everything is not misinterpreted to them.

The rallies before or after the defeat of the Amnesty bill.None that i have seem .Why would anyone want to come here illegally when there is no chance of making it. States like AZ+COL+GA are enforcing our laws Fining employers. There leaving those states. There are no country's that would allow illegals to enter or stay. What would happen if we went to Mexico an stood in the middle of the street with an American flag yelling give me amnesty you what ever they were yelling.Stealing IDS fraud, going after there social system.
They wouldn't be so forgiving an kind. The out come of deporting the illegals, will take some time. When the states come together with No jobs ,No pay,No stay most will self deport themselves ,an try an come back legally. If there deported than entering will be harder. The Gov had a taste of we the people. an were ready again.

There was nothing wrong with the old immigration laws, when I came here I had to have: 1) A police clearance 2) A complete medical examination 3) Enough money so I would not be a burden Nothing wrong with those laws.

A person coming to the USA should be able to easily apply for legal citizenship status there, just like the past immigrants of the USA.

As for countries that will allow you to come there and live without applying for citizenship.

There are many countries out there that allow the immigrants to come there and live without applying for citizenship, however the immigrants still have to apply for legal immigration status.

Personally, the USA need immigrants, such large and relatively empty country need people to support it.

Immigrants should be able to easily immigrate there, and those who have stayed there long enough should be given the option for citizenships.

The USA need a simplified immigration procedure. And if the USA is affraid that these new immigrants might make troubles, then these new immigrants need sponsors to vouch for their acts (like companies, corporations, families, etc).

It's ironic that the USA make it difficult to allow the average immigrant to come, while they make it easy to allow immigrants who are known to defy their previous governments (usually under refuge status, asylum seeker status, etc).

I quite honestly think it's too late. There are so many millions of people in the US illegally that the government (INS) would never be able to deal with getting them deported. The illegals know that and so they keep coming. In short this country is going to hell in a hand basket. We might as well open all of our borders and let everyone in. We can't win. What a shame. I hate to have this bad outlook on things but I live in an area that has been highly impacted by the illegal population and I feel absolutely powerless.

Edit: The only way to stop this onslaught is to start fining and prosecuting the people and companies that allow illegals to work for them. If no one is willing to hire them because of the risk of losing their business the illegals won't have a reason to come here or stay here.

Immigration should be like everything else a person wishes the "right" to enjoy. PAY FOR IT. I, myself am 3rd generation in this country BUT of peoples who "applied" for the right to be here then DID what was necessary to become CITIZENS. I just love all these people who advocate on behalf of all the illegal aliens in this country who say they have RIGHTS. What rights ? Most are here illegally, DON'T wish to pay taxes, and when they get sick, gain medical services at the cost to us taxpayers. WHEN they WANT to PAY their FAIR share, THEN and only THEN will I side with all those who say they have RIGHTS, and by the way, I AM "hispanic" of Mexican and German ancestry.......

I am an immigrant from Russia.

I work my a** off, religiously pay taxes year after year, never asked for anything, pay bills on time, and yet waiting in line for FBI to complete my background check after passing citizenship test almost 2 years ago.

I met so many immigrants who not only take but give nothing in return. What drive me absolutely nuts is they also refuse to learn English, so now if I want a good job I have to compete with Spanish speaking people because a lot of immigrants from Latin America do not feel it is necessary to speak English in the USA.

I can't stand when people say that there is no way to deport "all" illegal aliens... Anything is possible. We are not talking about mass deportation. We can gradually deport them a little at a time!!!
