There are Christian paleontologists . Dinosaurs existed and are spoke of in the Bible as Leviathan and Behemoth. You should absolutely not stop him from pursuing it. We desperately need scientists of all varieties that will not be afraid to challenge the theory of evolution and seek for truth. God bless!!

Stopping a child from pursuing something he loves isn't a good idea. In fact, how do you know it isn't God's plan that your grandson grow up to be a dinosaur expert.

What should you do? I'd suggest that you learn about dinosaurs with him. As he learns, you can help him learn to separate the facts from the theories. Check out http://www.christiananswers.net/dinosaurs/ for more information about a Christian perspective on dinosaurs.

The fact is that your grandson will go to school, perhaps even to college, and then out in to the world. Instead of censoring all the things, including dinosaurs, that some people try to use as evidence that God doesn't exist, you would serve him much better if you equip him with the knowledge he needs to defend his faith!

The asker is making the assertion that if the grandson pursues the study of dinosaurs, he will put his faith in science instead of the Bible, thus dooming him to hell for forsaking the faith the asker believes to be correct.

The Christian God gave his followers free will so why should you interfere? Yes, I know you must "help the lost souls get to God."

Once again I find the arrogance of some Christians to be appalling. If your grandson loses his faith or chooses another path, it is his right to do so. You should love him no matter what. I don't care if he turns into a flaming gay, dinosaur-seeking man who thinks the sky is full of purple polka dots. If you believe in the Bible, then perhaps you should study it. All sins are equal in the eyes of God and Jesus says the most important commandment is LOVE. So - just love him - NO MATTER WHAT!

I think you may be confusing issues. You are concerned with him losing his faith if he becomes involved with others' points of view & perhaps you are thinking alot of scientists have little or no faith in the Creator.

we live in a world with diverse cultures. If you are concerned that he is not grounded in his faith, Talk to him about your concerns and pursue the answers together.

I think just about anybody who absolutely loves a particular field should not be denied the opportunity. To be able to love your job is such a huge plus.

Not to mention the fact that Ive read no-where in the bible that believing in Dinosaurs is a sin. There are large beasts, creatures,Behemoth in the Book of Job, among other things mentioned in the bible which do not seem to have cut n dry answers.

well, i don't think being a paleotologists will doom him with eternal pain and suffering. as long as he still has faith and believes the bible. don't be hard on him. lead him in right direction that will embed faith in him. as long as he has jesus in his heart and keep the commandments he'll be fine. also, kids changes their minds pretty quickly while they're young, especially kids with big imagination. i think being a paleotologists is an exiting career. i mean, for kids that is. young kids are very curious, and they love aventures and exiting things. it's not right to neglect them with these things. remember, science can be both good for life, and bad for faith. he needs to know which will help him in life. so let him be an paleotologists, just make sure he knows that the real true faith is right.

all right, i just read your additional detail. i take back all i said. tell your grandson good luck!

Do you really mean he'd be going to HELL? I can't believe you are that uninformed about dinosaurs.
Every kid picks an animal that are their favorite. My grandson also loved dinosaurs. He finds them interesting. He also loved cows at one time.
So, my advice is to keep your mouth shut and leave the kid alone.

How does learning about dinosaurs lead you to HELL? They really did exist. You are aware of this proven fact arent you? I think you should tell your grandson that you are going away for awhile and lock yourself in an institution. Then tell him he is free to learn about the dinosaurs he loves. I hope you arent going to tell me the universe is only 5000 years old or they found Noah's Ark in Turkey. You are NUTS. CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY

dinosaurs are in the bible, book of job mentions them. as long as he is taught to love Jesus, and is raised in a good christian home then there shouldn't be any problems. maybe he can make a change for the positive in the world of paleontology one day in the future. it's ok for him to love dinosaurs and God too.
