Is it true all men that are 18 in the United States must register for the Selective Service Draft Thingie?

Since the federal government already knows who is 18 and over (trust me, they have their ways)---you would be at extreme risk of FEDERAL PRISON if you do not register at the US POST OFFICE for selective service... Right now of course there is no draft---last time that was instilled was during the Vietnam War... but you still must register so that the feds knows just how many young men are eligible for military duty should the need arise to restart the draft... Besides it's the law so just do it.

Yes. There is currently no draft but you still have to register. I heard an ad on the radio just today that said if you don't register you can be denied government benefits such as student loans. Apparently in some states not registering can also keep you from getting or renewing your drivers license.

Men are required to sign up for selective service when they turn 18, unless they are the only son in the family. As an example, I have one son. He will never have to sign up because he is my only son. Watch Private Ryan. You'll understand.

All should serve (mandatory) at least 2 years in the Military!
