In churches, are we not surrounded by what all man made? Perhaps unanswered prayers are getting distorted as we pray them through the roof? Or maybe the roof helps to keep the lightening out? Who knows?

Bob, MY Church IS the Universe. The Universe is ALSO my bible. As a Witch, I find that the Natural World is a FAR grander church and bible than ALL the manmade buildings on the planet combined, And ALL of the most beautifully wirtten Books ever composed. Show me a more beautiful ceiling than the night time sky. Where is there a finer rug than the soft grass under one's feet? There is NOT a better choir than the birds and animals and the wind blowing through the trees. The truths revealed by the budding of a flower or the hard work of the ants and bees is beyond any truth that one can find in any book.

You are SO right about your question. Thanks for asking it in the way you have.

Brightest Blessings,
Raji the Green Witch

You have to meet somewhere. It doesn't have to be in a church building. Some people make too big a deal over the building. The roof has nothing to do with whether prayers get answered or not though. Part of the reason is because God knows better than you which prayers to answer and which prayers to reject. Jesus gives instructions on how to pray in Matthew 6, warning against sinful attitudes and behaviors that will hinder your prayers from being answered. Also, if husbands are bad to their wives, God won't answer their prayers (I Peter 3:7). God alone fully understands how prayer works, but He has given us hints in the Scriptures. Ultimately, God decides. We are not God. We will never understand it all. That's one of the reasons we worship Him.

Bob,
We are told to associate with other Christians and that the first Century Christians got together to sing, give, and partake of the Lord's Supper. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,

That is a good observation on the church from a different perspective. Organized religion is so interesting to me - I like to study all of it.

if you are referring to the building you are correct in your statement but the church is really just a body of believers and not a building
