OK, so we know there is no Christian persectuion in the West.
Persecution in other parts of the world tend to come from other religious or political world views.

Jesus was hated by the religious people of his day who promoted intollerace, rules and regulations and hatred against people.

So and this is serious, when Jesus said you would be hated if you followed him was he actually talking about the extreem fundementalists and evangelicals that call themselves christians.

in that case these people are actually becomeing the very thing that Jesus hates.

Look at when Jesus said that the religious people had turned the temple into a market place.

Could that not be a fitting description of the evangelical church in western society - ie a multi billion dollar marketplace.

I think it would be hard to call upon a single title such a evangelical, and place all followers in the group into a category. Yes I think you are right in saying persecution will come from other so called Christians. But I would think it will happen in all groups. What I believe will happen and we are seeing today is the true church going underground because traditional churches are all becoming intolerant to people who oppose there doctrine using sound scriptural teachings.
Every one wants an entity to point its finger at, it usually ends up becoming a group that is separated from our relative beliefs. But remember that we all have logs in our own eyes, Gods finger is the one we must look at and it is pointing at the whole earth.
there are True Christians in every church, And Play Christians as well. God will point his finger when the time comes we need to work out our own salvation and share that grace while we can still freely do so.

The Fundamentalists seem to define persecution as "the government won't set up my faith interior the popular public faculties in violation of the form". different than that unusual definition of "persecution", no. the overpowering Christian majority isn't being oppressed or persecuted by the miniscule non-Christian minority, or by the secular government.

Unfortunately, it is sad fact of history that we Human beings cannot live together in harmony. At least not in this current state. Persecution has been around since we have been able to walk. Anyone who thinks differently than the mainstream society will be persecuted until either they submit to the mainstream or they are killed.

I am sorry to tell you this but persecution happens in every country on this earth, even the USA. To rid ourselves of persecution, one must practice acceptance.

I must admit, I have been more mistreated by fellow Christians than any other person. It's sad but true. Well, more like "Christians." In other words, just because they claim it doesn't make it so. They were more like fellow church goers. If someone hates me because of my religious preference they have no life. At least, that's how it is here in the United States.

Witless Nmb1, last time I checked their is a Christian President in office who making sure that he protects all those rights that Christians are feeling that are being taken from them. Conservative Supreme court nominees... But it took Pagans and Wiccans nine years to get the symbol of our faith adopted by the VA to be placed on our solidiers graves. So does that make you feel persecuted that we won?

I tell you what if it will make you feel better I will be condescending and treat you poorly so you can hold your head up high and pound your breast shouting, "they're taking everything away from us!"

No 'christian persecution' in the west? That's a riot.
If I were to walk into a 'christian church' today, and start speaking DIRECTLY FROM SCRIPTURE ABOUT THE FIRE JUDGEMENT ABOUT TO FALL ONTO THIS WORLD, including THEMSELVES, do you really think they would come up to me and PAT ME ON THE BACK?
Look up 2 Peter 3:10 and Isaiah 30:26 and answer me the question 'WHY IS MARS EXPERIENCING GLOBAL WARMING?' 'Man' has nothing to do with it, God has EVERYTHING to do with it.
BTW you do bring out a good point....the 'religious people' have turned their so-called 'temples' into marketplaces. I've seen it far too many times.
The TRUTH is not in the 'CHURCH'.

Almost every religion in the world is used by people for their own personal gain. People will take advantage of others in any way they can for their own personal gain. So when the church is making billions of dollars, its not the common Christian's fault, it is because the top officials of the church are greedy and dishonest.

Sure, o.k., but so long as any of them who whine about being a persecuted christian remember that the very faith they claim has done so to every other belief for far longer, to the point of attempted genocide of a belief.

It could be an apt description if they are selling sacrificial animals at a premium, fudging on the currency exchange and making "laws" that go far beyond the demands of the Bible.

Being a Christian and sticking up for what is right can be very unpopular. While Christians in the US have not "resisted sin unto death" they are often ostracized by their peers and even family, which can be painful.
