go to petfinder.com they have thousands of puppys and dogs looking for homes
it is a rescue where you may have to pay a small donation for adopting a dog if it is already sprayed or netured but they have dogs up for adoption in every state
,good luck!

It is suggested that you do not adopt 2 puppies at once, especially from the same litter. The reason being is that they will bond more closely to each other rather than you and your family. They will form their own little pack that excludes you and it will be virtually impossible to effectively train them. The other reason is that you have to watch a puppy like a hawk the first 6 months and it is near impossible to effectively do this when you have 2 puppies running in opposite directions. My advice is only adopt one for now. Wait until it is about 1 year old, and then get another. Edit: most of the responses here are from just normal people that do not understand dog psychology. I have been a dog trainer for 10 years, and I have never seen a litter mate situation go well for the owners, ever. Ask any trainer and they will tell you the same thing I did.

Well, at Petco in Houston TX, every few Sat. a month they have people bring animals to the store so you can adopt them! I don't know about how they do it in Miami, but If you go to the the store and ask you can get the scoop for how they do it there.
Also make sure to judge the puppies character, not just looks. I had a dog and got another that was pretty hyper and loud as a pup. Unfortunately, that dog ended up trying to kill of my older dog! She had to be put to sleep for trying to attack a woman and for hurting my first dog severely. Sorry, I don't mean to be giving you my life story, just It'd be better to have an ugly dog than a violent one. : D God Bless!!!

Go to your animal shelter, most are under $100. But don't forget it costs a lot of money to raise a puppy. If you cannot afford the initial cost of a pup then you probably cannot afford to raise one. Think about it...vaccinations, unexpected vet bills, quality food, toys, beds, treats, quality food...and the list goes on and on. Sorry this turned into a lecture...just remember a puppy is a lifetime commitment and it costs LOTS of money.

First you need to do some research to decide what breed suits you the best. You dont just want to adopt any kind of dog without knowing what you are getting yourself into. You want to know how big the dog could get, common health issues for the breed, typical behavior, etc. This is not like going out and buying a goldfish. You need to know what to expect. Dogs are like children, they need lots of love, attention and training. Most important, they need lots of patience and encouragement. Do your homework before you decided getting a puppy is the right thing for you.

At the SPCA the fee for a puppy is $90 and that includes its vacines and it being spayed or neutered and a leash and a collar a microchip and a tag so all of that seperate would end up costing hundreds of dollars. I am a volunteer at an SPCA

I would suggest a shelter or the humane society. It's wonderful that you are going to adopt! You will be saving a life! I hope you find your perfect pup! Good luck! : )

Hop on down to the humane society. They kill (euthanize) puppies by the hundreds there. Check them all out and pick out the one you like best. Save a life.
