I think people generally thing "50", but it's more like 37 for men and 39 for women.

My 2nd half has been good so far. I'm 10 years into it.
Scary to think about but only about 29 years to go. I plan on working for a few years yet because I have 3 teens to put through university/college.... then hopefully be able to retire and drive around north america with my hubby...

can I visit you when I do??

blessings :)

We are aging from the moment we are born. There is no "half way." Biologically, after we've completed adolescence, our bodies are in a constant state of "repairing and replacing" what has grown, so it's basically a race against time from then on.

Genetically, we're limited to about 120 yrs, so 60 would be the technical mid point, but few people reach such an age. It's more a factor of what the average age of death is in your country (which varies widely.) In the US, we live to just past 80, so 40 is more or less the mid point for most people.

I don't see life as a "half way up, half way down" experience, but more a continuous process of accumulating experience, and along the we start to trade our physical attributes in for wisdom and experience.

I'm middle aged, but I am usually taken for being much younger, simply because I'm always going fast. I don't act like people my own age, which is one of the things I think contributes to living longer. If you don't use it, you lose it. As I've started to lose some of my physical prowess, I've focused much more on learning and teaching. That is the direction I intend to continue in as I get older.

The pulse rate in a new born baby is about 140
beats per minute. This pulse rate gradually reduces
during the Koumaaram period and settles down to it's
stable value of 76 beats per minute after the age of 24
years. Different sects in the world have different
criteria to declare a person to become a youth. The
Indian tradition says that a person becomes a youth on
his 25th birth day, taking the stable heat beat value
into consideration.

In English, 'flourit' means the
age of dawning of wisdom; it also means the age of 40.
(See a multi-volume dictionary in a library). Energy in
the body will be at its highest during the youth period
from 25 to 40 years of age. Generally,
intellect starts funtcioning after the age of 40
years, but it may take longer for others. You can not
blame a teenager or a youth for not having it. It is a
general observation that only person aged beyond 40
years are called intellectuals.

History knows that major inventions or innovations in science were
made by people after the age of 24, and major achievement in
philosophy, history or literature after the age of 40.

most people dread 40 or 50. So i would say that is the halfway point.

I don't try to get caught up on birthdays. We all get older is just the way of life. And its pointless to be depressed about a number. dwelling on something menial and as stupid as age keeps you from living! I'm only 21 so I haven't even began to hit the "half way mark"

The days of our years are threescore years and ten;
and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years,
yet is their strength labor and sorrow;
for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
(Psalms 90)

Threescore years and ten = 70 years
Fourscore years = 80 years

Those numbers still work pretty well today. So half way would be 35-40 years.

At 54, my plan and goal is to remain happy and content with what I have and to see each day as a blessing.

The saying goes "Life begins at 40". Ha
I plan to make the last half of my life peaceful, productive and loving. Drink a few more lemonades and a few less beers(as the song goes).

40 years old. I am not sure. That is a good question. I would like to see grandchildren, go to Niagara falls, pay off the house, help my husband to retire. When I was in high school, I would have died b4 I wrote this list!

Yes, I've reached my "personal halfway mark" and my plans are far better for the latter than the former.

I am so happy to see you!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll guess 40 would be around half way. I am way past that.

I just hope what little life I have left is happier that every day before today.
