My friend says that he bled in his mouth between the teeth. He claimed it was coming out in chunks, but it stopped later, and started up again. He doesn't go to the dentist much, because he's busy, and he suspects it's a cavity. Sorry for being so vague, but what do you suspect?

he has to go to the dentist and get a deep cleaning. if he's lucky the bleeding will stop after he gets a deep cleaning. it is a good idea for him to floss after eatting especially before he goes to bed. have him rinse every morning and night with BreathRx (anti-bacterial mouth rinse) and use sensodyne (sensitive teeth its a reddish/gold box). on top of all that he should start using philips "sonicare" electronic toothbrush. the reason i'm suggesting all this is because i have the same problem as your friend and it is a pain trying to maintain healthy teeth. i floss, rinse, brush every morning and night and still have bleeding gums even after the deep cleaning. if your friend's teeth aren't beyond the point of saving he'll be fine following these steps. tell him to go to the dentist and he/she will be able to fill your friend in on his condition.

Without seeing the tooth or the area in question and taking some x-rays to see if there is a cavity or not, it's impossible to say what his condition is based on just a vague description. We dentists are not clairvoyant.

Your friend needs to see a dentist to find out what the problem is, plain and simple.

Sounds like you have a stupid friend!
He is probably suffering from gingivitis or periodontitis... inflammation of the gums and possible bone loss.
Too busy to see the dentist? He won't be too busy when he starts to lose his teeth due to neglect!
Many people use the "too busy" excuse when it's really "no money" that keeps them away from the dentist.
Having preventative care, cleanings at least twice a year, can save money, and teeth, in the long run.
Get your friend to the dentist before he starts having major problems and possible tooth loss in the future.

hello. he need to see the dentist.! if he is bleeding now, and 'chunks' came out, I cannot say but he's doing a he-man posturing or something. HE NEEDS TO SEE SOMEBODY, probably a dentist.

it is caused by debris in between his teeth...when he brushes it removes the debris causing it to bleed from the spaces that were open because of debris in those areas of the gums, he may just need to go to the hygenist to get a deep cleaning when he gets the chance...does happen...not a cavity just needs the cleaning:)

HELLO,
YOUR FRIEND MUST SEE A DENTIST IF HE WISHES TO KEEP HIS TEETH AND GUMS IN GOOD SHAPE FOR A LIFETIME.
HOW BUSY CAN HE BE TO NOT GIVE THE ADEQUATE CARE FOR HIS MOUTH?
