Well if it started when school ended then you could just have the blues. You aren't in a steady routine like you were in school, you aren't being socially stimulated like you were in school. Get out there and have fun and quit being a fuddy-duddy.

You could just be tired!! You said you are a teenager and with the pressures from school, friends, and all the other stuff teens deal with day to day, you just could be tired. Just get some sleep for a few days (naps never hurt anyone). Just don't let it go on for days, then you might find yourself depressed. Try resting, then getting back into the swing of things. As for your friends, call them, talk for a short while, then tell them you have something to do and you'll call then back later. Hope I've helped.

There are diverse ranges/depths of melancholy and truthfully while you're deeply depressed throughout the time of long classes of time it can bring about insanity. It relies upon on why you're depressed, there could be many very diverse motives for melancholy. With insanity i assume you recommend psychosis - like "going nuts", loosing administration of actuality, loosing ones self, regressing to a extra primitive state, no longer with the ability to stick to social and ethical codes in society and so on. (wich is each so often stable in case you do it intentionally!) melancholy can bring about new techniques of thinking and mark the commencing up of a favorable progression in existence, that´s substantial!

If this has been going on for more than 2 weeks, then you most likely are depressed. Unless you don't really like your friends anymore and may have outgrown them, I would force yourself to call them and take their calls, as well as hang out with them. By forcing yourself to get out of the house and have fun, you will probably feel much better.

This is a test you can take to tell if you have depression. If you've got any question about it, I'd suggest taking the test.

One of my favorite agencies--NAMI--National Association for the Mentally Ill (www.nami.org) has tons of information about teenagers and depression, plus a chat board where you can talk to other teens that may feel like you do.
