I think people who say things like their purpose is to help lessen suffering or whatever are misled. Why suffer in the first place? Why have human form in the first place? It seems like a joke.

Human existence just IS. So, everyone has a choice what they want to do with theirs. I am an atheist and also a humanist. If others have a life of suffering or hardship, I think it's good to try to help them the best way possible. People don't choose to suffer. It's just the circumstance of where they live and what they lack. Since so many people I love have died of cancer, I do what I can for them.

No. Our human existence is not a joke. The fact that you exist and that I exist is the most awesome blessing.

For people who don't know that God exists and that he created us for Eternal Life, life must seem pointless; after we are dead, what difference does anything make?

Another problem some people have in making sense of human suffering is that they mistakenly believe that the physical body is themselves. This appears to be true but in reality, is as true as the assumption was, that the Earth was FLAT.

Suffering is necessary in this world! How can you become a better person and make a better world if you have no knowledges of what is bad? Also, if we suffering is a warning for our body and minds to fight against it and cancel it! The world is pure energy but its organized state are ambigous and a lot of destructive phenomenon help to increase energy complexity and interactions. Humans are no different, we are part of a large mechanism and as a part we have our purpose...
Joke is only a thing from the realm of men, and has no meanings in itself! So from your perspective as a human, you may feel its a joke, but this universe is fundamentally serious about EVERYTHING!

I'm not sure I'm following you, but are perhaps you are saying this all isn't real, just a dream, or an illusion perpetrated by some superior being for his amusement?

Try going to your Mother's funeral, see if that feels real. Hit yourself on the toe (real hard) with a hammer and see if that feels real. And finally just go ahead and jump out of a very high window in the imaginary building you are in and when you don't die, you'll pretty well know that it is all fantasy. That nothing is real. OR, you'll be mincemeat on the sidewalk and scraped up and disposed of as another wasted life because you are too stupid to appreciate what is good and happy with the world.

No life can be quite serious. It is only a joke if you let others play you. If you go chasing after the wind and catch nothing, and begin to think you are so smart, only to find your life has no purpose and no meaning, then guess what - the joke's on you.

Human existence is a gift (thank you god) we don't deserve it, we didn't ask for it, and we don't get to keep it. suffering on earth must exist; without it there would be no healing. Appreciate your human exist, we are so not deservant of it, but I sure throughout your day you can think of, dream of, or even dwell on a happy time in your human existence.

Worldly existence is absurd. Even living empty of self is absurd. But living empty of self for the sake of being filled with the Holy Spirit is all that matters.

A cruel one, my friend. For some religious theists, their religion and religious beliefs are so important to them that they can't imagine anyone being without a religion of some sort. For such people, religion occupies such a fundamental and necessary aspect of how they live that they insist the same must be true of everyone. Thus everyone must have a religion of some sort and it's impossible for anyone to live out one. This includes irreligious atheists who insist that they really don't have any religion.

It's either a comedy or a tragedy. Actually, it's both at once - it's just a question of which side of the coin you happen to see at the moment.
