Christians, and believers in God alike will agree that prayer is a very important part of your relationship with God. Though it is never a "bad time" to reach out, our hectic lives sometimes get in the way of this communication, which is so integral.

When in your life do you make time for prayer? Do you have any specific times set aside in your schedule for conversation with God, or devoted to reading the Bible or other religious text?

For instance, if I make no other time during the day, or things get out of hand and I've completely lost track of my day, I make sure when in the shower or in the bath, for prayer.

Though it is good to set a time aside for the reading of the Word of God and prayer..God is more concerned with quality rather than quantity and we should be in an attitude of prayer throughout the day.. I personally, read the Word at night and pray in the morning...As you have stated praying in the shower or in the car are also a good way of using spare time to speak with God.(as long as we are not just "fitting" in time for God rather than making God a priority(even for a short period of time) and not with repetitious meaningless prayer.

Good for you,for being real!.We all need to hear, not only your question, but examine our own attitude towards prayer, worship and the reading of the Word....I listened, personally Thank you.

I have caught myself being a "foxhole Christian" at times, usually when I am not reading His word in a disciplined way. I almost always have a bible and reference books close at hand, and look things up if I have a doubt about where the verse is that is coming to mind. I am talking about serious study of the word, with cross-referencing to gain deeper understanding. This is what leads me into deeper prayer. Makes sense the more I know the book, the more I have to talk about with the Author. I am an avid reader, and I made an agreement with myself that if I did not have time to read God's word, neither will I indulge in secular reading, not even a great historical novel.

You can call on God anytime, he will listen. Even though in Islam, there are 5 prayers at fixed times, you can ask God for something anytime of the day like in the car etc. but if its in the shower and bath or any other clean places, it is not appropriate and this is disrespectfull.

Thank you for sharing this. You've reminded me that even though I do pray, I don't set aside the priority to God like He deserves.

When I see my life out of balance and things are going bad, I need to stop and examine what is going on. Sometimes, I'm not praying, or I'm focusing far too much time in one area and neglecting other issues that are more important.

As Christians, it's important to keep all areas of our life in balance. Not only focusing on prayer, but also focusing on the things that are truly important.

umm usually just pray before every meal and, before I go to bed, and of course whenever something arises that I might need quick guidance on, but I make time for bible reading usually a few chapters a day, as well as reading other bible-based publications as I get them. but never thought of the shower thing, ha, good idea.

I say my prayers every night before I go to sleep while laying in bed trying to fall asleep. I think about God a lot and wonder what and who is is listening to while I think about him sometimes. lol Makes you wonder who and what he is doing at the moments you think about him :)

Prayer and bible reading is important everyday.

2 Chronicles7:
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
