im 15 and i love the punk/emo stuff. I dont do bad stuff though im all good. But i really want to dye my hair like just like expect for the pink i would sub in blue. The only thing is my parents are kinda narrow minded when it comes to color. So what it the best way to talk to a parent about this?

This is kind of funny but I would be totally OK with my son dying his hair. He, however, would never consider such a thing. He is so conservative for a 13-year-old !

I would draw the line at a tattoo, though, because I just don't like them. If he came home with one, I would march him right back and have it (painfully, so I have heard) removed. Is this narrow-minded ? Well, until he is 18, he lives by my rules.

I think the best way to approach your parents would be just to sit down with them and tell them what you want. Then listen to their arguments as to why you should not do it. If they will just not change their minds, try to understand. Do listen to their decision and follow it. Blue hair is just not worth losing their trust.

Maybe you could by some spray stuff that you could wear when you want and then it can wash out when youre going somewhere that is not appropriate for blue hair!! You can dye your hair with food coloring and it washes right out but, its messy cause it will get all over your skin and stuff!! So, i suggest maybe the spary can stuff!! Ask them if that would be ok? It will be sort of a compromise and it will show that you respect where they are coming from too!!

Well I believe honesty is the best policy. Ask them right out if they will permit you to color your hair. If they say no, then approach them again on Halloween, and make it like a Halloween costume. It will give you at least the chance to have what you want if only for a short time.

good luck

see if they will agree to let you do it for the summer, and dye it back when school starts. At 15 you cna express yourself more, but this may be too much. remember, the more you do right the more privliges you earn. See if you can get straight A's for the fist semster of school, use it to bargin for more privleges

Hi. I think it's great that you can express yourself on the outside and stay who you are on the inside. Maybe start with something like that? Just be respectful and honest.

Lolol...I used to have spiked hair- my parents nearly died of embarrassment- the joys of teens! lolol

I would also ask if you can do it for the summer- as long as you dye it back in the fall for school.

Their house, their rules. Plus, school probably won't go for it either.
