Children are NOT bad. They are a product of their environment. Too many people having children way to young and out of wedlock.
To many working parents who put their children in daycare 10 hours a day. The children are being raised by paid workers... unacceptable.
People are not incorporating God and values into their parenting.
Children learn from example.
My children are not angels BUT they are very well behaved and they know that they are blessed and appreciate the things they have.
Blame the parents...

Most parents anymore had thier children young and find it amusing when they miss behave. (not saying all young parents) findin it funny to hear them say curse words or run around beatin on other lil kids. Rarely do you ever see parents take the time to discipline thier children, they act like it's too much effort and it's just easier to give them what they want. It doesn't help that the TV shows and video games portray a bad attitude and being disrespectiful is a good way to act. And yes I think the fact that spanking has now become child abuse has something to do with it too.

The problem with young people is that they are young. But this is nothing new. Socrates expressed basically the same sentiments ~2400 years ago:

"The children now love luxury; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in places of exercise. Children are tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when their elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties [food] at the table, cross their legs and tyrannise their teachers"

Children today are the same as they've ever been. It's the *parents* that trouble me most. (check my source below for more interesting quotes about "kids these days!")

Because parents do not set a good example for them to follow and are not consistent with discipline. Most kids are now the products of welfare moms and single parent homes. They have no good fther figures, or good examples in mothers.

I'm a bit tired reading that kids are bad now because parents don't spank them.

When I was a kid, almost all parents spanked their kids, and there were good kids (like me, lol) and there were bad kids too.

It's up to the parents how raise good kids, not just the way they discipline them. That can be a factor but it does not explain everything.

Actaully, spazyferret, PLENTY of kids have raped and murdered other children. Just had to put that out there.

Anyway, to answer your question, kids are so bad nowadays, in my opinion, because discipline laws have changed, parents nowadays are much busier and don't have as much time to devote to parenting, and they probably watch too much TV.

Remember, ALL kids test their boundaries!

Philosopher Robert Fulghum said "Don't worry that your kids never listen to you, Worry that they are always watching you"

Hmmmm let's see.....maybe because of:

1. Music Video's with half naked people bumpin and grindin
2. T.V. shows with cursing and excessive violence
3. Their parents are always at work, leaving them home alone
4. Peer pressure
5. Not enough neighborhood recreational centers for kids anymore.
6. too easily accessible drugs drugs and more drugs
7. too easily accessible guns guns and more guns
8. higher high school drop out rate/ teen pregnancy rate

..............shall i go on?................i think you get the message.

however, there are some kids out there that despite the odds, they are succeeding......i applaud them.

- Neglect
- Day cares
- Being spoiled/getting EVERYTHING they want whenever they want it
- Getting away with murder -- no consequences for their actions
- Television and video games (little minds are very impressionable, they pick up stuff from everywhere... and look at the CRAP on tv and in games... and look at the amount of time kids are allowed to spend doing this stuff)
- Lousy parenting
- Psychological and behavioral disorders

Because parent's would rather be best friends than parents now.
Because everything besides "talking to your child" is considered "child abuse".
Because they are around people in school who do the exact same things to their parents.
they have the government telling them if mommy and daddy are "mean to them" in "not letting them have their way", then they have the right to "call the cops".
A lot of parents are just too big of babies to actually discipline their kids.
