When i go to uninstall, it says that that it is preparing to install and i let it sit. After about ten minuites it says that a patch can not be found please locate or ask software provider or somehing like that. I put in the cd, and it opens but does not run. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to uninstall via the add/remove programs feature?
if not try to remove it that way,or alternatively just delete the program files in your programs folder.
If all else fails get the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 this will clean up any orphan files leftover from a previous installation.

first of all DONT EVER DELETE PROGRAM FILES FOLDER as the genius told u. you will distroy your system.
now u got to repair the installation of your office. after inserting the office CD if it did not autostart then go inside the cd and u will find a setup file with the name
setuppro.exe
just double click and then choose repair installation from the next windows and u can deselect word at the same time or later throught the installtion to remove it from your computer

Some one else who is more computer wise than I am will probably have the more correct answer but, here's mine

Can you drag the MS Word Icon into the trash and then secure empty trash. Then restart the computer for all changes to take effect?

There is someone out there who's more brilliant than I am when it comes to things like this!
