I am looking for a song to put on a dvd tribute I'm making...my mother was given 1 year to live with systemic lupus and fought it for 13 years before her body could no longer handle it. I am her 16 year old son, but this dvd will go out to friends and family.

I am sorry for your loss. And I really understand how you feel. There is a song called "MAMA". It is sung by Connie Frances. Every time I hear that song, the lyrics are so powerful, and she sings it so powerfully I get such goose bumps all over my body and start to cry.

The words are so true. It depicts exactly what she meant to me, and how much I miss her.

It is a must for you to get the song and hear it. Your heart will just melt. Your family will just love it. There is no other song that I know of that describes how much she meant to me.

There's a song by Five for Fighting called 100 Years. It depends what you're specifically looking for. Pick a song that she really liked. However, if you want the 100 Years lyrics, I'll post them here.

I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...
I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day's a new day...
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

I'm sure your mother was a wonderful person. She deserved a thoughtful son like you.

*hugs* hope I helped!
XOXO,
Laurie

Sorry for your lost. Boys 2 Men have a nice song call Mama. It's a beautiful song honoring mothers. Everytime I hear that song I think of my mother who passed almost 4 years ago. Also Wind beneath my Wings is very beautiful.

Why not write one? Finding a song is not that difficult, But writing a song is much more personal and will allow you to put music to what you feel. A song is more than a beautiful melody, it tells the story of love and reality. A song should come from your heart and in your situation, no one can write a song to her better than you. Take your note book out, sit down and write out what she means and meant to you, then find a studio and record what God has placed in your heart and what realith has presented you with.

Celine Dion Sings "because you loved me"

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

I think you should honor your mother with the greatest song a mother can have. Ava Maria, that is the song for every mother.
