no offense but personally i don't allow my 5 yr old to sit around playing on the computer , if Your child has some spare time why don't you get them to play in the garden or do some coloring or take them to the park or they could help you do some cooking . and if they like games why not some good board games or puzzles and if your child is 5 them they are of school age why don't you do some school work with them , eg maths , english history or reading and writing

One of the most common video games for preschoolers are the Seseme Street games, but since you said you are not interested in those I will give you some sights to look at.
I know at the childcare center I work at we have several of the Seseme Street games, plus alot of the board games like candyland, streets and ladders, etc.
I am sending you a link to look at a disney computer game you can consider. (Great Sight) http://www.commonsensemedia.org/game-reviews/Playhouse-Disney-Preschool-Time.html
There also is a place called fungame that is listed for preschoolders, but I have no first hand knowledge of it. http://jumps.fungamescentral.com/?refer=1152539
Another sight to try that I have heard is good, but have no first hand knowledge of it. http://www.noggin.com/
If you like sponuge bob you could try this sight. http://www.greatdaygames.com/games/spongebob-diner-dash.aspx?predownload=email (This is where you can try a free online version, but I do not care all that much for spongue bob so never tried it.)
You can also get some online games from the tv shows like Dora, Blues Clues, Max& Ruby (In other words Nickoldeon shows) at http://www.nickjr.com/parenting/activity_finder/games/online_games/index.jhtml (this sight sorts by age, activity and show)
Well these are several sights you can look at and decide which one you might prefer. Wish you the best of luck

You can pick the games by age group and my daughter has been playing on both sites now for well over a year.

My dd first liked pbs.com and kidpix. kidpix is software you have to buy, but it has been well worth it. Good for lots of creative fun.
She also likes nickjr, noggin, and webkinz. (you have to buy a $10 doll for webkinz and then it lasts a year.) I'm not sure any of them are all that great educationally, but they aren't too bad
