a magnavox dvd player please help me with it?

ok i downloaded a movie from my computer and put it on a DVD-R and tryed to play it on my magnavox dvd player and it wont play, i used nero visual to download the movie and it plays perfect on my computer but will not play on my magnavox. what am i doing wrong?

magnavox only accepts avi. format so try to convert it to avi. format

Your computer have some codes. So the DVD is play with it.Cheak your DVD formet.Is that (*.VOB) ? If not , you have to convert this with any DVD converter. Then write it. Enjoy it.
