I idolize Cesar. He's awesome. He treats dogs for what they are. Dogs! He shows us how we humans are the reason why a lot of dogs are aggressive, obsessive, insecure and what we're suppose to do to get the dog back to balance. Some people believe his techniques are inhumane but I don't. I believe if you don't like his techniques then don't use it. That are other methods out there that you can use. Choose the one that is good for you and your dog. His way is just one method that you can use. But Cesar is a great dog behaviorist and is not aggressive with the dogs he's firm.

There is someone who uses the moniker of dog whisper but I don't think he is the real one.

As I have said before I agree with some of what he say but I believe that for the most part he isn't right. I think he uses an old out dated method of training that is very hard on the dog. There are easier and more effective ways to train a dog. I think his best is making owners wake up and recognize that their dogs are animals and not furry humans but so do a lot of other trainers, I hope myself included.

I disagree with his reliance on dominance and pack structure as a catch all for unwanted behaviors. I think it is easy to say such and such is dominance but you can do all the dominance rolls you want and still have an aggressive/fearful/disobedient/destructive etc type dog.

It is better to work with the dog. Is it fearful, then find a way to desensitize them to their fears. Is it lack of training, does the dog understand you? Is he bored? Questions like this provide concrete ways to deal with what we term a bad dog.

I don't really care what people say a dog who rushes out the front door ahead of you isn't thinking about whose in charge, it just wants to see whats outside and no amount of shouting or dominating is going to change that. However if you teach the only way to go out the door is if you say the command then you have a chance.

I think Jean Donaldson had it right when she said that dogs often do things simply because no one has ever told them why not.

I think that if you have poor handling, no training, little to no exercise, socialization and stimulation then damn near anything is an improvement including most of the dog whispers tricks. The problem is they are very hard on the dog and if you push them to hard you may break your dog. On the other hand as my mentor has said pet friendly training produces people friendly dogs.

I watched his programme on UK TV a couple of nights ago and I must say I was quite impressed with his methods.
He stopped two yorkies from hell from attacking the vacuum cleaner continuously by pointing his index finger at them and making a noise like a bottle of lemonade being opened, sort of psssscht sound (only way I can describe it) and within no time at all they got the message and just backed off.

I tried it on my two pups because they think it's a good game to attack the vacuum cleaner or the mop and this method has worked 100%. I am now able to get on with my chores in peace thanks to Caesar. I can't wait for his next programme!

Love him!!! He totally understands the pack life of dogs. It is natural for dogs to adapt to his training because it all goes back to their instincts of coming from a pack. He is amazing! I do my best to model my training after him, though my dogs were already pretty good.LOL

Cesar is God - "deffinately" is not a word - Correct spelling "definitely"
