I went to a conference at the weekend and there was a talk by the Raeliens, Whilst I had heard of them before (a few years ago, due to the cloning) I hadn't realised they classed their religion as the religion of science. Does anyone know anything more on groups like this who base their religion on UFO's and or science?

Actually, I stumbled upon a website called "bible ufo connection" or something like it(if you google it ,you will find it). They advocate that God is an alien, and travels in a Ufo.They base their belief on a different interpretation of the bible. Even if I do not believe in their theory ,or any other for that matter, it still is an interesting site.

There are a lot of small groups that do that. Heaven's Gate was another example. Their group suicide was to go for a ride on a UFO in a comet. The upper levels of Scientology have it too.

I'd hardly group the two, honey. At least REAL science, anyway. I'm willing to bet a few say scientology.

Christians base their beliefs on an "undead" martyr that floated up into space.... Little or no science in that religion though, as far as I can tell...
