Every day I eat the same boring thing for lunch (soup in a thermos and a few slices of bread). Unfortunately, I can't warm up any food at work, so I have to take a packed lunch that I carry around all day.

What can I make for a packed lunch that is delicious and nutricious, and won't go bad without refrigeration?

When i worked in an office that didn't have a fridge, i would take a frozen sandwich to work. I'd make the sandwich with bread, cheese, and meat and freeze that part. Most veggies don't freeze well so i'd pack them seperate. They would be fine during the morning, and the rest of the sandwich will thaw by lunch. Then just put the veggies on right before you eat it. It's kind of a pain but better than worrying that your sandwich will be old and gross before you can get to it.

If you use freezer packs (little ice bags available in most camping stores) you don't need to refrigerate they will keep food cold up to 12 hours in most cases. then you can enjoy - cooked sushi(like California rolls, eel and salmon), any variety of lunch-meats, and leftovers (like fried chicken and meatloaf are really good cold if you don't have too much fat) and cheeses as well as cold juices. If you want a hot lunch use your thermos to hold chili, or hot water and a couple of dogs (pack the buns and dressings separately) personally I recommend 2 thermos' 1 for food and 1 for beverage that way if you want coffee or tea you have your own and you save some money. Good Luck!

Pack some yummy things from left over dinners like what rachael ray makes. Or go crazy like the gorme next store. Make a good pimento chease and tamato sandwhich with basil and pack it with some grapes and a canoli! Yumm-O for Italian! [Just kidding about the cannoli instead try an chocolate chip healthy granola bar or an oatmeal chocolate or raisen cookie! Simply delicioso! You can get these simply declicious recipie from the site below. Sorry I don't know how to put links! Oh and get a lunch box so you can put in an Ice pack to keep refrigirated foods cold. YOu can get them for like $5.00 at target or walmart.

I like making a nice salad & save it by it self
** then I take some grilled chicken, tuna or turkey I chop it then add some sliced onions, carrots, olives & roma tomatoes in quarters to this I add some balsamic vinegar & olive oil... I mix all this and then save it appart on a tupperwear then this will marinate over night in the fridge & the next day you bring both things with you and mix it right before you eat it, with this I usually bring crackers or bread

Ok, what time do you go into work and have lunch? if a 6 hour wait til you have lunch I suggest.. Go to a food-lion(before work or whenever you can go) and in the ham section there should be these boxes of sub-like buns, and your choice of ham, if you eat ham.. their pretty good.
