Since I have a runaway dog, does anyone know how much it costs for either the microchip or the invisible fence? I've recieved lots of great answers to my recent question about how to keep her from running away everytime a door is left open. Thanks to everyone who answered that question also.

Call your local Animal Control, here in LA,Ca they have clinics for free shots and micro chipping. You might want to check with your vet as well. All the best;~}

micorchip is anywhere from$35 to $50, some vets also charge an exam fee. It cost another $15 to register the chip. Do not forget to register your chip.. and also update it when you move or change numbers! There are lots of pets that are found and scanned, but the owners cannot be reached because they never registered or updated the chip!

I do not know the price of the invisible fence. It may depend on how much property you are fencing in. Some dogs will still cross over the fence tho.. they learn to anticipate the zap and just run for it.

Microchipping can cost $20-40. Invisible fence hundreds of dollars. The chip won't keep her from running away and possibly getting hit by a car. The fence may or may not work with a runner. Keep a leash by the door and put it on her before you open it.

Invisable fences are costly and not effective Microchipping is good its about $35 if you go to a low cost vaccination place like lovemypets its only effective if someone turns in your dog or if they take the dog to the vet because they scan the chip but if someone wanted to steel your dog there is no way of them traceing where the dog is unless the people have to take the dog to the vet for whatever reason.

Spend the money to invest in chain link fencing, invisible fences aren't that great for runners as far as I've heard. As far as I know it's useless if they dog is running fast enough- by the time they've stopped from it affecting them, they're already through it. Especially if they jump through it, where they couldn't stop even if they wanted to.

Microchipping is good, just not a preventive.

Microchips are around $35 and I would not reccomend a invisibile fence because they can give your dog rough matted fur. But Where do you live they might charge different in your area. Some places charge for the vet visit, the shot alone, and the microchip. So its different in different areas.

I dont think invisible fences are that much unless u have a very large yard where you put the fence all around it then it could get expensive

I'm no longer certain the right way to therapy the main issue, however it is to do with the load of the tags. Are each tags at the equal method round? If no longer, making an attempt turning them in reverse instructions.

Work on the come command, so that your dog will come to you instead of running off or you chasing him.

In your house or in your yard you can work on 'come' Keep her on a leash and call her toward you. If she does not come, then bring her toward you with the leash, encourage her with your voice (but don't say come over and over again). Give her a treat when she reaches you. Soon she will come on a dime when called (on leash). The next thing to do is work on 'come' off leash. Do this in a small room. If she does not come then go get her and bring her to the spot you called her from. Give a treat. Eventually she will come when called.

Remember to give her lots of praise when she does it right.

Good luck
