it will likely burn like crazy, and I don't recommend it for open wounds, the salts will destroy healthy tissue and delay healing. If you have embedded slivers that you cannot remove, you need to see a doctor and get them out, they are sources for infection. For the cuts and abrasions, wash them with soap and water, and cover with sterile bandages until they heal.

I've soaked many open wounds in Epsom Salts before. If I didn't have any handy, I've used plain table salt. Good luck. 2D

salt is wonderful for wounds. it helps in 2 ways. it makes the skin granulate, and prevents infection. (most pathogens can not thrive in a high sodium environment.) it may sting for a minute, but it's well worth it.
