The part that's really crazy is that this same Bible tells them not to masturbate, and they do that anyway. It's called cherry picking, and those who criticize homosexuals probably do so because they are afraid of their own homosexual tendencies.

1.God destroyed city's for that.
2.It is a sin, what kind of message are we sending to our children when we tell them it's OK to go against God's will.
I don't hate anyone but sin in any form affects my life and my children's life and to except it and say it's OK affects my relationship with God, not just someone that is gay but any sin, In the way you have put it sounds like Christians singles out gays, well I don't like it when the guy next door gets drunk either, It has not been that many years that gays have made a very strong and loud voice that they now want everyone to except them, I am not trying to go around and talk bad about them but a lot of people keep popping up with the question and putting it in my face so don't expect everyone to except it, I and may other Christians will never except sin as being OK. And no I'm not saying I don't sin but I do try to keep from it not except it. If someone refuses to change that will be between them and God but I will not have to answer to God that I have taught anyone that it is OK.

First off, the bad or immoral decions people make, do affect others. Those who decide they can do drugs cost society billions of dollars in hospitalization and law enforcement. Those who practice abortion cost us billions of more dollars for doctors and nurses, clinics and counselors, not to even mention the emotional toll this costs society through depression, suicide, alcoholism, drug addiction. A persons immoral decision does have consequences for others. Higher taxes to pay for all the additional Doctors, Lawyers, Judicial personal, Counselors, clinics - etc. All this money being spent on peoples immoral decisions, could be better spent feeding the poor or lowering taxes. Being gay is no different, many diseases are spreading through this behavior and many court battles are being financed through tax dollars.
If you want to practice this behavior, that is your choice, I think I should not have to be held financially accountable for it, thats all. Your taxes should go up to cover the costs, not mine.
I make my case on a humanistic level so you can more easily see the consequences suffered by others who have no part in these bahaviors. I will obstain from stating what God says about this behavior.

Being gay has NEVER really hurt ANYONE at least in the sense that being gay has ruined a christian or anyone else for that matter... All christians are not homophobic , Some are just as some black, jews, hindus, muslims are homophobic but NOT ALL of them... If a person is gay, he has a RIGHT to be that way---you are not born straight and then become gay---I truly believe that you are BORN gay---and although you may be confused throughout your life, once you realize that you ARE gay---your life seems to then make sense to YOU... I too have a few friends who are openly gay and they are WONDERFUL, descent people with families, and lives VERY SIMILAR to everyone else... the only difference is that they have same sex partners---and I may be wrong here but I THOUGHT that who one sleeps with is no ones' business but those who are doing the sleeping....

Of, course it doesnt hurt a Christian if someone is gay but who does it really hurt?

God is the one who weeps for his beloved children because according to the original plan for mankind in the beginning, this was not his intention. He has expressed his desire in his words through the prophets and by the law he wrote with his own finger, the 10 commandments.

If you don't love God then who cares what he thinks, right? BUT if you do love him, he said "Why call me Lord and not do the things I say?" To the believer-every word that comes from God matters. The believer wants to express his love for God.

Christ also commanded Christians not to judge-he commanded them to love. Period.

Make no mistake: The bottom line is to go against the express will of God is called sin. His justice cannot excuse sin under any circumstances, sin brings death. This is why Jesus came to give us the power to be free from sin. He came because he loves every single human being on this earth and his offers them forgiveness, reconciliation and most of all POWER to destroy sin in the lives of those who will repent and put their trust in him.

We can all be set free from any sin today! Jesus Christ is the way to complete salvation. He loves us and his grace is amazing!

if a person is truely a good christain then another persons sexual orientation doesn't hurt them. The bible tells us it's wrong but the bible also tells us not to masturbate, not to envy, not to cheat, lie or steal, not to eat meat and milk at the same meal...........I could go on and on. It's easier for Christians to condem people who aren't like themselves especially when they are doing something that has been so taboo for so long. The bible teaches us to hate the sin and not the sinner so if a person believes that homosexuality is wrong they should hate the sin only!
I'm a Christain (married to a pastor) and I believe that homosexuality is how a person is born just like being born with autism, red hair or blue eyes. Some things can be changed like hair and eyes but other things can't and people just have to accept it.
Does this long winded ramble help answer your question>

Boy will I get some thumbs down from christians who don't believe in forgiveness but believe in being judgemental!!!!

It does no damage to my life. The Bible talks about it being wrong - maybe that's why Christians say it's wrong.

Still, it's not my life or soul it hurts. For me, it would be wrong - but I would still love a family member if they were gay, I wouldn't disown a child, or drop a friend. I would worry about them and pray for them - but never belittle or bring them pain.

The Bible says - "for as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Notice the "period" at the end of that sentence - there are no qualifiers -so, as far as it is up to me, I will live at peace, and I will love my neighbor - no matter his/her lifestyle. I may not embrace it, but I will be kind, civil and not condescending.

But, then, that's just my take on it.

(yes, I do have friends who are gay - and I don't badger them)

It doesn't HURT anyone. But it makes them sad. When I see someone completely drunk I feel sorry for them, I feel sad. They don't do anything to me, but I worry about their family.

Sometime they feel disgust. Because Christians believe that homosexuality and lesbianism is wrong, that God created man and woman to have the maximum pleasure together. Two men together it is fast, simple and can become boring. Two women together (because a woman takes longer to reach climax) would be long and selfish and hence boring. Neither "couple" has to sacrifice, or show more love, it becomes a habit like eating. Just necessary.

So Christians feel that it is twisted. It is like stabbing yourself. Why would you want to stab yourself? Why would you want to be homosexual?

Plus, homosexuality actually kills a lot of people from AIDS and other diseases. Actually innocent people can be infected too. God created man and woman each to have only ONE partner at a time, and if you think that the person you will spend the rest of you life with hasn't come, it is because you aren't trusting GOD to bring that person into you life.

So yeah, someone who is gay doesn't hurt ME, they hurt themselves. I just pity them, feel sad and feel disgusted.

Why ask Christians--it somewhat is offensive to God, and he stated it became an abomination to himself---does that count selection as hurting somebody---this time it somewhat is God. Make each and every of the justifications you like for sin---loving somebody without lust does not justify intercourse without marriage---that too is against God and he won't tolerate it. Sin is sin with the help of God's definition not with the help of your good judgment or attempt of nice judgment.

Not all Christians talk horribly about others. Yes it is a sin according to our bible, however it is also not favored upon God to judge others. I, as a Christian, want and believe that everyone deserves a chance to experience God and His glory. I don't hate gays, however I would like to help them to come and know God. I honestly don't care if one is gay, but I care for people to at least have a chance to know God. As a Christian I am to try and help to save people and spread the word of God. So when I don;t try and help gays I am not doing my part as a Christian. So it does effect me. If I don't try to do anything about it, I have failed God and have done damage to not only my life, but to God and humanity as well.

"What damage does that do to your life?"

A person who is gay and who keeps it private does zero damage to my life. They risk their immortal soul which causes me grief if I know about it, but other than that it doesn't effect me.

What does effect society is when lobbyists demand that school children be taught that homosexuality is a perfectly acceptable alternative to heterosexuality.

When they try to change the definition of marriage so that instead of a man and a woman who have made a life long commitment, usually with one of the goals being to raise a family, to any two people of the same sex who want official recognition of their sexual union then it erodes the cornerstone of social order and stability.
