Somehow religion gets a status that is more pure than politics and lo and behold questioning those is a form of sacrilege. However, what most fail to realize is that those beliefs are so intertwined with all the other beliefs they hold - political, economical, social - that they are discussing them, for the most part, just by giving their views in these other areas.

People can question my beliefs all they want, I don't care what they think! Most of them are pretty stupid, extremist, or have too many ulterior motives for me to even worry what their opinion about my own, private, personal spirituality are. I can talk philosophy, theology, and abstraction all day, but rarely will any conversation with another person change my beleifs which have developed from years of personal experience, experiment, and random wanderings. Honestly, there is so much nut-job idiocy in the cross section of American spirituality that it doesn't really matter to me. Now, politics, on the other hand, is so much more polarized that it can be offensive. As a polytheist, I see spirituality as a multi faceted gem while politics seems to be a coin with only two sides.

Every person on Earth has their own beliefs and we need to Respect that. My Religion is mine. My Business and no one else's. I am strong in my Beliefs and love to share with others, but I don't force it down non-believers throats. You can ask me all the questions you like and I will Love to compare and speak about my wonderful Beliefs in the Lord Jesus Christ. I have great Respect for other cultures, and the way they worship. I was born a Christian and not one person on this Earth has the right to dis-respect what I have been born into. I feel the same way about all other Religions. The word is Respect for others Beliefs.

People question my religious beliefs fairly frequently. My denomination is statistically in the minority in my area, and I get a lot of questions. That's all right, and I welcome questions. I only hope that they're presented respectfully, because that's how I intend to answer them. There's a difference between honest inquiry and outright mockery. However, I tend to answer even disrespectful questions calmly and honestly.

As for anyone questioning faith, well, just because someone asks a question doesn't necessarily mean they are entitled to an answer.
A very wise man once imparted this to me--- If someone asks you a question, it is perfectly permissible to ask why they want to know.
Faith is a personal thing, and those without faith usually lead empty, materialistic lives with a sense of lack and little fulfillment.

Since when does believing in a religion mean we dont' think? I think all the time. I'm thinking right now. I'm also thinking that maybe you need to relax... so what if people don't like being attacked for beliefs? So what if they retaliate? If someone criticizes my religion i'll defend it. I wont' attack anyone elses. So dont' generalize. There's no logic behind it, only assumptions. And don't assume Christians aren't educated either, are you Mr Genius? Didn't think so. So get over yourself.

ROFL. You nailed it.
Each sect mocks the other calling them cults and then claims that it's downright rude to mock their particular sect because, of course, theirs is the "right" one.

some people don't know how to defend their beliefs, because they don't really know why they hold those particular beliefs.

I don't mind people questioning my religion, where do you get this stuff? Maybe I get mad if you outright insult me, insulting is not questioning.
