I've met plenty of people that were pretty physically unattrative or deformed that are married. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and some people with mental problems may not be in the best situations to be intimate with someone much less get married. I dont know many people that would want to sleep with someone with mental problems unless they had problems of their own.

well they should masturbate of course. And surprisingly many churches don't disagree with that it seems (see below). Catholics do, but that's because then people can confess it...
Most church leaders recognize that negative attitudes towards masturbation don't have any effect except serious mental and sexual problems. Churches change, but they don't like to admit so and their opponents in general don't want to see it. Everyone inside and outside the church likes to focus on where the church has stayed the same, not on where it has changed.

so your single. big deal! think of the money your saving, think of the peace, quiet and FREEDOM you have! NO family crap either, no one cheating on you then taking you for half or more of your money even if she has a job. there are worse fates in life than being single.
Vin
PS: Paul can not be taken seriously. We only have his word that he saw jesus, the reason he was taken seriously is because he was a full roman citizen, which meant the early church turned to him instead of jesus's jewish disciples. also, a lot of scholars will tell you it's very likely Paul was a pedophile and that was the "thorn in his side" he complained about. I could get into the gospel writers but there's not enough room except I will say the writer of Matthew would was a born manure hauler.

I believe if you read deeper and in the same chapter, does it not say that a man who gives his daughter in marriage does well, but he who keeps her does better. I don't believe there is a mandate one way or other, and as far as what some say about having sex outside of marriage, they do not "get" scripture and Christianity because that is what the Pauline quote you provided is dealing with.

God wants all unmarried people to be totally celibate until marriage. I think some people who marry are really called to be celibate since they can't communicate, etc.

You asked, "Does God want all Christians who do not have the gift of celibacy to marry?"
BETTER, you should have asked, "Does God want all Christians who aren't CURSED with celibacy to marry?"
My answer: In my opinion, no.

Chap, I spoke with God only this morning at Starbucks, and in perfect BBC English he told me that he wants all fundamentalist Christians in the USA to be celibate throughout life, unless they're gay or castrated. Then he spilled his coffee, flirted with a tall woman with red hair, and took half of my blueberry mufflin in one holy gulp. It was God, what could I do?

It is not good for man (male or female) to be alone, unless you Do Have that Gift!
Pray, GOD will set you up for a Mate.

If they can't find someone to marry, what makes you think they can find someone who wants to have sex with them?
