Hi Marylyn Sue,
Have you received the tumor pathology report back yet?
If so, what was the tumor name/histology and grading and what treatment regimes have they proposed - chemo agents / radiation etc?
Are you suffering ny physical or cognitive deficits post surgery?
Since our daughter's diagnosis of a brain tumor in 1998 when she was 12 (Medulloblastoma - a from of brain cancer) we have been blessed to meet many more wonderful and caring people than we thought possible.
Unfortunately some of our friends at the time could not cope and distanced themselves or perhaps we also distanced ourselves from them, whatever more kind and caring people showed up who more than compensated.

I could see a GP and ask for a thyroid blood scan, a few of the ones signs are like an underactive thyroid. Off-stability, fuzzy head, feeling far away, low awareness. The handiest different symptom is severe tiredness that you just don`t point out, and a stupid useless expression within the face with baggage below eyes. I`ve not ever heard of anybody having a mind tumour for years. If this is a thyroid difficulty you could definately want Thyroxine pills for existence. I am within the UK in which healing is unfastened, sorry you need to pay for it.

Brain tumors seem to be more distressing than some other cancers.
My theory is that it is because people can envisage exactly where the brain is but many other organs' placing isn't well known.
Hope things are going OK.

You underwent surgery for a tumor 2 weeks ago? And your home? My best (male) friend had a brain tumor about 7 years ago. Don't know how much I can tell you about it, but if you need a support person, e-mail me at jpgregory2001@yahoo.com

thats awful news. one of my brothers had one removed last year and the other had one removed this year. both of them recieved the pathology reports after two weeks and both had grade 3 however both are doing really well undergoing their treatments, and one of them is even back at work.
to answer your question i think people dont really know what to say at first however when they do start to talk about it (in my expierance) i find they cant talk about anything else which i know annoys my brothers and myself. but my mum cant stop thinking about anything else which is understandable however its starting to cause a rift because we know its not good news but you need to keep on going ahead and forget about the shock in the past. babysteps is great.
* step one get your results then make a new step after that
