I am not religious, but a friend has read the book and says one of Noah's sons tried to get it on with Noah. This sounds a bit f****d up to me, what sort of sh*t are they writing about in this book. I may be lacking some knowledge on the subject but its enough to put me of religion.

The Bible is a collection of many different stories collected into books then re-collected into a single book. Some stories are about real people and events; they include both the good and bad that things they did. Some are bases or inspired by real people and events. Some are entirely metaphorical.

Since the original writer of this portion (or a later editor) chose to use a euphemism for whatever sexual act happened, we may never know what really happened. At the time it was original recorded most people knew what was implied, but no one wrote it down.
Now it is lost and can only be speculated about.

Incest seems likely because the curse was on Canaan, Ham's son, not Ham himself. The "having sex on the arc" idea has been traced to a Hebrew scholar who wrote much more recently then the original books of Moses.

Actually, after Noah drank a bit too much, one of Noah's sons not only tried to, but did "get it on" with Noah's wife, (not with Noah) and so committed a form of incest with his own mother.

Their offspring bore a curse, as a result.

This "uncovering thy father's nakedness" was a Hebreic term that actually referred to the father's wife, who was considered the father's nakedness (and no one else's).

Many people get confused when they fail to trace this matter further, from the book of Genesis where it occurred, to the book of Leviticus, where it and other offenses like it, are more fully defined and explained.

The bible is the unvarnished story of sinful humanity and of God's divine plan for our redemption, and ultimate reconciliation.

Don't get put off by it. There's lots of worse stuff still happening in today's world.

There is plenty of reason to eschew religion, but to do so should be based on firmer ground than this. Read the Noah story for yourself in Genesis, and then contemplate the fact that the flood reported there could not have occurred: it would have left traces (such as melting the Antarctic ice cap) which are not found.

One interpretation of this passage is that Noah's son abused his father when he was passed out from drinking. The text doesn't say that clearly, but it is a possibility.

Genesis 9:20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: 21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. 23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness. 24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. 25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

Canaan was Ham's son. "Seeing the nakedness" of a person is often used in the Bible as a metaphor for having sex with them. But whether Ham merely went in and saw his father naked and went and made fun of that to his brothers or did someting more despicable is uncertain.

Your friend has it all wrong!
One of Noah's sons had sex with his own wife while on the ark, even though G-d forbade both men and animal from having sex on the ark.
