WoW!! I wonder what all these Dodge haters are driving now? Good luck to them! Seriously...Every transmission from every manufacturer has a common problem. Chrysler has worked out many of the early year issues that they had with the 41te (A604) transaxle. The most common problem that you will encounter is a speed sensor problem or a solenoid pack issue, both of which are external fixes. The best thing that you can do to prevent vehicle problems is regular maintenance, this does not gaurantee a problem free car, but it is some insurance for longevity...this is true for all makes.

dodge caravans of all years have tranny problems.they make 17 differeant trans,and they still cant get it right.

when hasn't the caravan had any tranny issues?! its a known fact! if its still under warrantee have the number of a tow tuck ready when it dies. if its out of warrantee, trade it in for something else.....its just a matter of time! :( sorry for the bad news! :(
